So, Veterans are… Who are Veterans? Veterans are people who
served in the military (U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard) in times of war or peace.
Who do you know who is a veteran?Maybe it is your mother, father, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, grandfather, grandmother, cousin, neighbor, teacher, or coach. You can be very proud of them. Many have given much to keep us safe and free.

Why do we celebrate?
On November 11, 1919 Armistice Day was created to honor WWI veterans. In 1954, this was changed to Veterans Day to honor veterans of all wars for their patriotism, love of country, and sacrifice for the common good.

Waresboro's Thank YouStudents created Thank You cards for Veterans attending the Marine Corps Birthday Banquet and for community veterans.
Waresboro’s Thank You Students submitted Veteran’s names to be
displayed on a bulletin board. Coach Lott announced Veteran’s names each morning to recognize their contributions.
