“Eu Sunt Pastorul Cel Bun” Ioan 10, 11-18

Publicația “Păstorul cel Bun” vine astăzi la

toți credincioșii bisericii noastre ca să ne

anunțe că am intrat în Postul Crăciunului.

De altfel, Păstorul cel Bun este însuși Fiul

lui Dumnezeu, Cel care ne cunoaște pe

nume și pe care fiecare dintre noi Îl

cunoaștem. Acum, înainte de Nașterea

Domnului, chemăm toată “turma cea cu-

vântătoare” să se reînscrie în Biserică, nu

doar cu numele, ci cu toată ființa noastră.

Timpurile de astăzi intimidează pe unii și

sperie pe alții. Însă cei credincioși nu uită

că Iisus Hristos este singura scăpare și sin-

gurul Mântuitor. Credinciosul Îl cunoaște, iar El ne știe

pe fiecare pe nume. Deși sunt multe ispite care ne

cheamă spre diverse filozofii de viață, credinciosul “după

străin nu va merge.” Suntem încredințați că Hristos este

„ușa oilor” și că cine va intra prin această ușă “se va

mântui”. De aceea, începem să ne pregătim devreme

pentru marele praznic al Nașterii Domnului prin post,

rugăciune, pocăință și fapte bune.

Dar, pentru ca biserica noastră să poată funcționa, vă ru-

găm să nu uitați să trimiteți sprijinul Dvs., ca dar Domnu-

lui Hristos. Să fim și noi generoși ca Magii și entuziaști

ca îngerii din câmpul păstorilor! Biserica noastră este un

testament al iubirii vii a celor care au trecut prin ea.

Acum este rândul nostru. Bunul Păstor te cheamă pe

nume și te așteaptă. Tu, oare, iubite frate sau soră, cum Îi

vei răspunde?

Today, the Good Shepherd publication

comes to all our faithful to beacon that we

have entered the Nativity Fast. In actuality,

the Son of God Himself is the Good Shep-

herd, Who knows us by name and Whom

each of us knows. At this time, prior to the

Nativity of the Lord, we are inviting the en-

tire spiritual flock to re-enroll in the Church,

not just by name, but with all our being.

Today’s times may intimidate some or scare

others, but the true faithful never forgets that

Jesus Christ is our only refuge and the only

Savior. We know Him and He knows each

of us by name. Though many temptations could draw us

to different philosophies of life, the genuine believer does

not follow a stranger. We are assured that Christ is “the

door of the sheep” and whoever enters through this door

“shall be saved”. For this reason, let us timely begin to get

ready for the great Feast of Nativity of the Lord, by fast,

prayer, repentance and good deeds.

To assist our church to function as it should, we urge you

to not forget to send your own support as a gift to the Lord

Jesus Christ. Let us be generous as the Wiseman and en-

thused as the Angels, who appeared on Shepherd’s field!

Our own parish is a living Will of the love and of all who

passed through it. Now, it is our turn. The Good Shepherd

calls you, by name and He is waiting for YOU. How will

you, beloved brother or sister, respond to Him?

During every Fast we conduct drives to

collect canned and dry foods, soap and paper

products for the needy or for the benefit of

our monasteries. All bags should be placed in the Cultural

Building.

Every year, all Orthodox Christians of our parish, 18

years old and over, pay a minimum amount of $210/

person in order to be able to vote in the

parish. Please, make sure your dues

are paid prior to the end of the calendar

year.

This year, the bare Giving

Christmas Tree that you will

find it in the church lobby,

needs our attention more than

ever. The pandemic that hit

hard the entire world has also

impacted the donations of East-

ern Orthodox Women’s Guild (EOWG) and the number

of needy women and children has increased. This being

said, we make an appeal to all our members and friends

to be generous and decorate the bare tree with their gifts

of love. You can bring your gifts of hats, gloves, socks,

mittens, toys, or any other items for mothers and babies.

BRĂDUȚUL DĂRNICIEI

Anul acesta, Brăduțul Dărniciei de Crăciun pe care

îl veți găsi gol în vestibulul bisericii, are nevoie de atenția

noastră mai mult decât în orice alt an. Pandemia care a

lovit puternic toată lumea a avut, de asemenea, un impact

asupra donațiilor organizației EOWG, iar numărul fe-

meilor și a copiilor nevoiași pe care îi ajută a crescut.

Acestea fiind spuse, facem un apel către toți membrii și

prietenii noștri să fie generoși și să împodobească

brăduțul cu darurile lor de dragoste. Puteți aduce cadouri

de căciuli, mănuși, șosete, jucării sau orice alte articole

pentru mame și bebeluși.

NEWS from SANTA!

Dear Children,

We received a letter from Santa saying

that he is keeping an eye on each one of you,

but he is not coming to Sunday School this year, as it is been

closed. However, despite the pandemic, he will visit all of you

at your own home. Further, Santa asked all children to be good:

pray at least twice a day, read the Bible and help their parents;

then, write him a letter.

In the meantime, you can create a calendar and write down

your good deeds. Then, do not forget to help decorating the

Christmas Tree and leave him milk, cookies and the calendar with your good deeds on the Christmas Eve! Father Grama and the

Teachers are praying for your and Santa’s good health, so he can visit you this year and fulfill your wishes.

Thank you!

This year was challenging for

all of us, adults and children.

Albeit the pandemic we are

facing, some parents brought

their sons to serve in the Altar.

Father is sending a big THANK YOU! to all of them.

For those parents who are still taking precautions and keep

their children home, Father is encouraging everyone to show

strength and belief to their children by watching the church

services, on Facebook, and praying as family.

Also, have them complete the proposed activities from the

weekly bulletin, Good Shepherd, and the emails sent by Sunday

school teachers. If you do not receive the emails or the weekly

bulletin, please send us your email address and you will be

added to the lists.

Finally, the parish office is working on the next year’s Altar

Boys Schedule. If you would like to register your son (9 to 18

years of age), please contact the parish office (216-941-5550)

or Father Grama (216-406-3654).
