The SE 282nd Avenue/Boring Road overpass will be raised, repaired, and resurfaced in 2018ODOT is working to improve the Boring Road overpass at US 26 by raising it to accommodate over-height vehicles. Additional clearance will allow large vehicles to stay on US 26 instead of being detoured onto Orient Drive and Kelso Road.
Project detailsThe project includes these key elements:
• Raise SE 282nd Avenue/Boring Road overpass at US 26 by more than two feet
• Repair and resurface the roadway on the overpass • Build new storm water ponds
Construction impacts and detours The project will require an extended full closure of SE 282nd Avenue/Boring Road where it crosses US 26. Detours will be in place while the overpass is closed (see detour map). US 26 will remain open during construction.
ODOT is talking to area stakeholders to determine when the closure will be least impactful. We want to hear from you. We are hosting an online open house where you can get more information on the timing of the closure and provide your feedback.

While the SE 282nd Avenue/Boring Road overpass is closed, northbound travelers will take OR 212/Compton Road to US 26 westbound to Stone Road. Southbound travelers will take Orient Drive to Compton Road and back to SE 282nd Avenue/Boring Road.
