The gardens are open to the public from
sunrise to sunset.
- Experience various growing techniques
- Attend a class or workshop
- Participate in a work party
- Walk the adjacent Portland Trails
- Or just come for the view!
All are welcome to come visit and enjoy the
gardens with a beautiful view of the Presumpscot
River.
(Please be respectful of all instructors and students while educational
programs and workshops are taking place and please do not interfere

Misson
The mission of the UMaine Gardens at
Tidewater Farm is to provide agricultural and
horticultural educational opportunities to the
community utilizing research-based,
environmentally friendly and sustainable gardening practices.
The UMaine Gardens at Tidewater Farm are completely self-funded. Therefore, we rely on our donors for the funding necessary for maintenance, updates and programs to teach the community the best that gardening offers us here in Maine.
