Uninterruptible Power Supplies - Preliminary Inspection

    3. Verify the interconnect ribbon cable is secure and fully seated on both the Power Distribution Board (D) and the inverter module (E). If changes are necessary to the settings of the Power Distribution Board (PDB) DIP switches (F), refer to either the chassis-mounted labels (beneath the inverter module) or read the complete XM2 Technical Manual.

    4. Ensure the metal chassis of the inverter module (and not the printed circuit board) is engaged in the card guides during reinsertion. Once the module is reinserted, tighten the captive screws

    (Step 2, B).

    2. Prior to the installation of the XM2 power supply, look into the inverter module opening, to the rear wall of the power supply chassis, and verify the output voltage tap connection (C) is in the correct position.

CONGRATULATIONS!Once the self-test and live-inverter tests have been successfully completed, the unit is ready to be placed into service.

Turn battery breaker OFF.Check battery cables for correct polarity (Red +, Black -).Connect battery cables to battery input connector(observe color/polarity). Insert temperature probe and Local/Remote Indicator (LRI).Connect status monitoring connectors, including tamper switch (if installed).Switch enclosure AC breaker ON; measure and verify correct AC voltage at utility outlet.Switch battery breaker ON and connect the XM2 to the utility outlet.Verify no alarms are present (it may take up to 60 seconds for the NO BATTERIES alarm to clear).Initiate self-test by simultaneously pressing the DOWN arrow key, and ENTER key. Wait for Self-test completion before proceeding.
