You use the verb SER to describe. The verb changes forms depending on who or what you
are describing – this happens in English too!
Yo soy alto. = I am tall.Mi mamá es bonita. = My mom is pretty.
Mis padres son simpáticos. = My parents are nice.
Adjetivos/Adjectives – repaso/review
Some adjectives end in –o. If you are describing a girl, you change the -o to an -a. If you are describing more than one person (or thing), you add an –s.
• alto/a/s• bajo/a/s• simpático/a/s• inteligente/s (only changes to plural)
Yo soy simpático. = I am nice.Mi mamá es baja. = My mom is short.Mis amigos son inteligentes. = My friends are intelligent.

El pelo = Hair

Los ojos = eyes

TENER = to have
You use the verb TENER to tell what color hair and eyes a person has. We will also use this verb to talk about family members. The verb changes forms depending on who you are describing (this happens in English too!).
Yo tengo el pelo rubio. = I have blonde hair.Mi amigo tiene el pelo castaño. = My friend has brown hair.Mis hermanos tienen los ojos verdes. = My brothers have green
