THAMUS was founded as a Consortium for Computational Linguistics in 1988 with the aim to carry out research in industrial applications in the field of NaturalLanguage Processing (NLP).

The Consortium’s activities concern the advanced research in Natural Language Processing on one hand and on the other planning and development of applications for language industry.

IST-2004-2.4.7 Semantic based Knowledge and Content Systems

The project aims at creating semantic applications capable of understanding the meaning of contents and guiding the user directly towards information searched for by using advanced strategies and through semantic queries.

These searches can be carried out by means of an ontological structure which will represent the platform for identifying such information.
