Building community connections

• Poudre Valley Hospital is the centerpiece of community health programs in northern Colorado. Our educators have been keeping the region healthy for more than 20 years. All programs meet community needs through evidence-based best practices for preventive services, chronic disease management, proper health promotion, safety and injury prevention.

• In 2015, UCHealth held its third men’s health event series called March MAN-ness to promote the importance of disease prevention and early detection screenings. Each year, this event has been attended by close to 200 community members in northern Colorado.

Moving care forwardPoudre Valley Hospital, Medical Center of the Rockies and Colorado State University launched an offi cial effort to combine resources and personnel to bring CSU research to patients faster and more effi ciently. The agreement gives the hospitals and CSU access to each other’s clinical trials, and hospital physicians are able to act as co-investigators for sponsored research at the university. The initial areas targeted for research are cancer, cardiovascular disease, infectious disease, diabetes and metabolic disease, neuroscience, sports medicine and women’s health issues.

Cancer is about

your neighbor, your coworker. It’s about my father…my brother…and yes, it is about your mayor.
