The InstituteIndian Institute of Plantation Management (IIPM), centre of excellence and the first of its kind National Institute, was established at the initiative of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. The Institute is co-promoted by the Commodity Boards of India, viz., Coffee Board, Rubber Board, Tea Board, Spices Board, Tobacco Board and Plantation Industry Associations. IIPM has been conceived as a world renowned academic institution focusing on the field of plantation and associated agribusiness and commodity management education. IIPM has educational membership with The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB-USA) & European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD-Brussels) and obtained permanent accreditation from Higher Learning Accreditation Commission of Texas (HLACT-USA).

Agricultural Export & Business Management

(PGDM : AE&BM) 2020 – 2022India has a significant role to play in the evolving global supply chain for products and services, thus creating huge prospects for the growth of the country’s agricultural exports to major markets worldwide. Our PGDM: AE&BM aims to generate a large pool of competent and committed professionals to take up the varied business management roles in the India’s Export Sector. The programme will enable the students to acquire the requisite knowledge, skills and attitude critical for tapping the vast employment potential and start-up opportunities emerging in this sector. PGDM: AE&BM offers a comprehensive curriculum that is entirely application-oriented in order to achieve this objective. The meticulously designed courses in all the six trimesters will be taught jointly by experienced academicians, industry experts and business practitioners using a blend of lectures, case study discussions, workshops, field research work, organisational internships and several interactive learning methodologies. The programme is for 100 weeks and has a total of 102 credits.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

EligibilityBachelor’s Degree in Agriculture and Allied Sciences viz. Food Technology/Engineering, Horticulture, Fisheries, Forestry, Animal Husbandry & Livestock, Dairy, Sericulture, Biotechnology or Business Management, Commerce/EXIM and other related disciplines from a recognised University or Institution with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of SC, ST and Person with Disability) with a valid score in CAT/MAT/ATMA/ CMAT/GATE.

Career Development Service Career Development Service (CDS) offered by IIPM ensures that all the students are trained on improving their employability and are also subsequently helped in the identification and selection of matching career options.

Programme OutcomesAt the successful completion of PGDM:AE&BM, the students will be equipped with the knowledge of the functioning of export business organisations and the effective application of the management concepts and tools for achieving their respective business goals. The students will acquire communication, team-working, problem-solving, negotiation, decision-making, leadership and creative abilities to overcome the several challenges in the export business environment. They will also be trained to develop business plans for the creation of new export business ventures.

Teaching and Learning IIPM contributes to students through three primary activities: teaching, research and corporate training/internship. The Faculty and academic facilities viz., library, computer centre, technical lab, knowledge resource centre, placement unit, campus and academic ambience are unsurpassed by those of any institutions. The institute offers its teaching and learning transactions through lectures, video, seminar, group work, case study method, issue analysis, cyber learning, role plays, tasting (sensory test for product innovation), market survey, field & industry visits, study abroad and guest lectures. The Knowledge Resource Centre of the institute is equipped with state-of-the-art, digital language and communication skills lab, where students get a hands on experience to acquire business communication skills.

Reservation The Reservation for SC / ST / OBC / PWD candidates is applicable as per the Government of India rules, subject to

Scholarships Meritorious Scholarships from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India. State Government Scholarships for OBC Students.

Foreign Students Foreign students can be admitted under the open and sponsored category. They may submit valid GMAT or any equivalent scores. Foreign students should be well versed in English language.
