What is a GAP archive file

A GAP archive file is a compressed file that includes all the associated files required when running

the model. These associated files are: MBLA files, PROSPER files, VLP files, IPR files, preview saved

forecast, etc. It is possible to add other files that are not directly associated with the project to the

archive (for example, Excel spreadsheets or Word documents). These types of files are called

“Baggage Files”.

The advantage of creating GAP archive files is to ensure that the entire model is saved or shared,

and ensuring the performance of the model.

Creating a GAP archive file

Once a model is created, with all the associated files linked, the way to create a GAP archive file is to

go to “File” on the main menu and select “   Archive|Create” . Once the file name is selected, a window

will appear, showing the associated files and offering the possibility to add new baggage files. Then

click on Write to create the GAP Archive file.

Opening a GAP archive file

To extract the files from a GAP archive file, select “  File|Archive|Extract ”  from the main menu. A path

has to be specifying where the files will be extracted.
