2003 Structure Structure D 2000 Triiodotelluronium Hexafluoroarsenate TeI 3 [AsF 6 ]. The Crystal Structure of the Hemi SO 2 Solvate and the Structure Relation to the Unsolvated Form. — Light red single crystals of TeI3[AsF6]·0.5SO2 are synthesized from a saturated solution of Te, I2, and AsF5 in liquid SO2 at room temperature. The compound crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pnnm with Z = 8. The crystal structure consists of pyramidal cations, almost regular octahedral [AsF 6 ] - anions and SO 2 molecules which show disorder for the O positions. The ions are pairwise associated, facing each other with the I atoms and forming large voids between each other. This causes a significantly lower density of the compound in comparison to the unsolvated form. — (BECK, J.; STEDEN, F.; Z. Naturforsch., B: Chem. Sci. 58 (2003) 8, 711-714; Inst. Anorg.
