You may also find this web page of help: http://its.kennesaw.edu/students Course Description Arts in Society: Theatre and Performance studies the value of the arts as vital and relevant forces in the lives of human beings, with particular focus on the arts of theatre and performance. Through a variety of aesthetic experiences, students examine elements of theatre, performance, music and visual arts and investigate the ways in which they reflect our experiences, express and arouse emotion, foster community and deepen our understanding of humanity. And More Concretely: Arts in Society: Theatre and Performance is a complex course combining lectures, exercises and demonstrations using Wimba Live Classroom, and out‐of‐class performances, a complex collaborative project, written and oral discussion, readings (plays, theory, criticism, popular culture, peer essays), research, and objective assessments in the form of tests and quizzes. Each student is responsible for their own learning and also contributing significantly to the culture of the class. This class calls for a commitment to a culture of excellence, the courage to exchange and discuss diverse viewpoints, and the discipline to focus the necessary attention and effort to the course requirements. Do not take this course this semester if, after an honest self‐assessment, you find you cannot apply these virtues.
