ThE PGA Europro tour is a partnership between The Professional
Golfers’ Association and Matchroom Sport. It has become one of the
leading tours in Europe and is the only officially recognised golf
developmental tour in the UK.
The backing and support of the PGA is pivotal to its success as
players strive to progress from the Europro to Challenge Tour and
full European Tour. Every aspect of each event, from refereeing to
live scoring, is overseen by official PGA staff.
There are 168 players in each tournament, which are three- day
events, usually preceded by a one, or two-day pro-am, all organised
by the extremely professional team at the PGA.
Some of the world’s top golfers, who started out on the PGA Europro
Tour, include Louis Oosthuizen, Richard Finch, Marc Warren, Graeme
Storm, Ross Fisher, Simon Khan, Bradley Dredge and Lee Slattery,
who finished 2011 with a bang by winning his maiden European Tour
event – the Bankia Madrid Masters.
In 2012 there will be up to 15 PGA Europro tournaments staged at
venues around the UK and Ireland - all televised on Sky Television.
They will be held between April and October culminating in the Tour
championship, which has previously been staged at Les Bordes in
France, consistently rated one of the finest courses in the world,
Aphrodite Hills in Cyprus, and last year at the Intercontinental
Mar Menor Golf Resort in Murcia, Spain.
This finale to the season is shown around the world on Sky with
players competing for total prize money approaching 100,000
euros.
About the Tour
“The PGA Europro Tour gives young golfers the chance to work
at
their craft and gives them a taste of life on tour. Since we
launched
we have seen a number of them grasp the opportunity with both
hands to become genuine stars of the game.”
Barry Hearn, chairman, Matchroom Sport
“Players are better coached than ever before, but it is the ability
to
translate that into results which will decide who makes it
through
to the very highest level and the PGA Europro Tour is invaluable
in
giving aspiring golfers the chance to test themselves at a very
high
standard of competition.”
Sandy Jones, PGA chief executive
EACh yEAr the PGA Europro Tour attracts a global television
audience ensuring an impressive level of exposure for your
brand.
Each event is aired on Sky Sports over four separate 120-minute
highlight programmes during the week following the event and at
least two of these highlights are broadcast during prime time. Each
event is watched by up to 150,000 people.
Additional TV coverage comes via the Golf Channel in USA, Japan and
Canada, all across Asia with ESPN Star, Africa with Supersports and
DSF in Germany. Also, footage of an event will be distributed to
local news channels, providing the opportunity for sponsors’ brands
to be televised across the region.
Your logo will be featured on the Europro website which recieves
50,000 unique hits a month, and will link traffic to your
website.
PR support helps to promote events in the lead up to, during and
after the competition. A series of media releases, as well as free
entry to the event, will ensure maximum numbers of
spectators.
As a sponsor, you will have the opportunity to reward loyal
customers by giving them the rare opportunity of playing with a
Tour pro in the pro am. This is also a great way to reward
exceptional performance or loyalty from staff.
As a sponsor your logo will also appear on any Tour literature
which is sent throughout the season to 6,000 PGA members as well as

Bovey Castle has been a perfect destination for
the PGA Europro Tour
ThE BriGhTEST of our stars has to be Louis Oosthuizen who played on
the PGA Europro Tour for two years from 2002. Eight years later he
landed the biggest prize of all… the Open Championship at
St.Andrews. Other wins have included the Open de Andalucia de Golf
in 2010 and the Africa Open in 2011. He also had a top ten finish
in the US open in 2011.
ross fisher played PGA Europro Tour in 2005. Two years later he won
his first European Tour event – The KLM Dutch Open. Three more full
Tour wins followed – the European Open in 2008, Volvo World
Matchplay Championship n 2009 and the Irish Open in 2010 – the same
year he made the Ryder Cup team which beat the Americans at Celtic
Manor.

A word from sponsors The PGA Europro Tour has enjoyed a decade of
successful sponsorship deals. Here are some views on what was
achieved and why
they supported the Tour.
“This will be our fifth year sponsoring the PGA Europro Tour and we
are amazingly pleased with what they
deliver for us. We stage the Network Veka Classic every year at
great venues and the feedback from our
corporate clients, who get to play with the highly talented
professionals, could not have been better. We also
receive some great coverage through the signage and plenty of other
hospitality at different events. Danny
and his team work tirelessly to ensure maximum possible results for
your brand.”
David Hartley
Sales and Marketing Director for Network Veka
“Last year was our first year sponsoring the PGA Europro Tour. We
have sponsored sports at lots of different
levels and were amazingly surprised at the high level of corporate
hospitality available on the Tour and were
able to utilise this by taking key clients to venues such as Bovey
Castle, Fota Island, Burhill and Intercontinental
Mar Menor which are all 5 star events. Couple this with the
excellent exposure from the TV production,
it really is a great way to utilise our marketing spend! We have
already committed to the tour in 2012.”
Gareth Edwards
A word from our sponsors contd
“We have been involved with the PGA Europro tour for six years now
and the professionalism shown by the
whole team is second to none. Our market share has gone from 22% to
57% in the last four years and
the way we have been able to utilise the hospitality and branding
on the Tour has played a big part in our
success. We staged the Motocaddy Masters in 2011 and this could not
of been a bigger success from our
point of view. ”
Marketing Director for Motocaddy
Building for the future
“The PGA Europro Tour has gone from strength to strength in
the last decade. Moving into the next five years we are
looking
to build on our success by continuing to visit great venues
and
to produce high class TV broadcasts which will in turn
attract
quality sponsors.”
