On-the-spot Photography Competition

Topic for photographs: “Language of Flowers” Venue: University of Delhi, North Campus,

Date: 1st March 2019

On the spot registration: 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Time for Submission (soft copy only): 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

For each category I, II, and III prize will be awarded.

1. Eligibility

1.1. The competition is open to all.

1.2. The photograph must have been taken by the participant at the venue of the Flower

Show on 01st March 2019.

1.3. A participant can participate only under one of the two categories mentioned above and is

required to submit only ONE image for the contest.

1.4. Participants must carry their photo I.D. issued by a competent authority (such as college

I.D., PAN, Aadhar, Voter I.D. etc) in original, which must be presented before the organizers

while submitting the photograph.

1.5. Participants are entirely responsible for all entry related costs.

2. Technical Requirements

2.1. Only Digital Photographs will be considered for the competition.

File size: Between 2-10 MB

File type: jpg.

Resolution: At least 4 Megapixel

Post Processing: All the images must be taken in jpg format; simple lighting and contrast

adjustments are allowed. Digitally composed images will be disqualified.

3. Submission

3.1. Only One Image of above mentioned technical requirements must be submitted to “Petals

Photography Stall” at the Flower Show by 1:30 p.m. Late entries will not be entertained.

3.2. The file name of the image should be the full name of the participant and serial number

allotted during registration.

3.3. Photographs to be submitted for contest should be brought on a Pen drive.

Facility to transfer the images directly from camera to the master computer of organizers will not

be provided at the stall.

3.4. The organizer reserves the right to reject images that do not meet specifications.

4. Copyright/Intellectual Property

4.1. Submitted images are non-returnable.

4.2. The participant shall retain copyright of the image entered for the competition.

4.3. By submitting an image for the competition, the participant will be regarded as having

granted the organizers the right to use the image in print, broadcast and/or electronic media

without any fee payment, for the purposes of promoting the competition or areas related to the

organizer’s work including:

1. Urban planning and design

2. Conservation

3. Architecture

Where any image is so used by the organizers, the participant will be acknowledged accordingly.

4.4. Images received by the organizer through the competition will not be used by the organizer

for commercial purposes.

5. Prizes

5.1. Results of the competition will be declared on same day at the Flower Show during Prize

distribution Ceremony.

5.2. Prizes are non-transferrable and non-exchangeable for cash or kind.

6. Judging and Results

6.1. The images will be selected by a panel of judges and their decision is final.

6.2. No correspondence pertaining to the selection process and decision will be entertained.

6.3. The panel of judges will evaluate the images based on the following criteria:

o Artistic/ Visual appeal

o Extend to which the photograph captures the essence of the theme

6.4. Photographs will be judged based on originality, creativity, and relevance to the theme.

6.5. The judging panel reserves the right not to award any of the prizes if the images submitted

do not meet the requirements stated.

7. Acceptance of Rules and Regulations

7.1. By submitting an image for the competition, the participant will be regarded as having

accepted and agreed to be bound by the rules and regulations of the competition.

7.2. While the organizer will exercise due care during the collection, selection and storage of

images, it shall not be held liable for any loss, theft or destruction of the images.
