bigyan N’yo po ako ng mahabang

pagsubok na ito. Kailangan ko po ng
konti pang tiyaga upang maka-grad-

PUMUNTA ka sa mu-

gawin.

Thankful for beinga superwoman’s daughter
Thanks more than words cansay to my INQUIRER family forstanding by me through all thecontroversies … to my Cinema
Evaluation Board family and TV 5 Ang Latest family for being
behind me no matter what … tomy loyal readers for their unwa-
vering support … to celebritiesfor trusting me with their sto-
ries, and to my kids, Bianchiand IC, who are my major
source of inspiration. How I wish my mom were
still around so I could dedicatemy award to her personally.Thank you, Ma, for teaching me
well. And thank You, Lord, forhelping me find the right wordsamid the show biz circus whereit’s often hard to tell what’s realand what’s not.
I remember my Ma used totell me that show biz could beso cruel and ungrateful. Butmoments like my Hall of Fame
win make me glad that I grewup in this maddening, wonder-ful industry.
Allow me to pay homage tomy late great mom, who paved
the way for me and so many other entertainment writers/TV hosts. Even now that she’sgone, people who recognize me
wherever I go usually say “Uy! Anak ni Inday, o!” I can’t helpsmiling every time I hear that.
It only goes to show that my mom left a permanent dent inpeople’s hearts.
Inday Badiday tipsHere are some “Inday Badi-
dayisms” from my superwoM-
OM. Till our next Eye to Eyemoment. Saranghamnida, Ma!
• Don’t keep track of what your competitors are up to. If you keep looking their way, they will overtake you before
you know it. Just focus on yourown path and do what you dobest.
•When a job is offered to you, you don’t have to be anexpert at it right away. Be will-ing to learn on the job. As longas you are interested, every-thing else will follow.
• At first you have to work more and be paid less. But if
you love what you do, one day you’ll get to the point where you’ll be working less and mak-ing more.
•Look at how a guy treatshis mom. That’s how he willtreat you eventually.
• When you are trying tofind out who’s telling thetruth … the one who says less
and doesn’t beat around the
bush is the one to believe.
• Lahat ng g usot, may lusot(There’s a way out of every mess)!
•Even if some people youhelped duped you, don’tmind it. Your help didn’t go to
waste as long as you see theirkids/families are okay.
•Don’t believe everythingthe stars say. Always try to digdeeper.
• When you are upset with someone, ask yourself why it should matter. You won’t spend the rest of yourlife with that person anyway.
• Be wary of people youdon’t know … but be evenmore wary of people you knowtoo well.
•Make sure that when youdecide to end a relationship,
you still have your self-respectintact. Don’t wait for when youare already devastated before
you call it quits.
• What you do to your
parents … your kids will do to you too someday.
•Even the falling of a leaf has a reason.
• Be thankful … for eventhe smallest of blessings.
•Don’t cry over a guy … who’s not crying over you.
•Go with the winners.
•It’s the little people youmeet along the way … that
will make the biggest differencein your life.

Survey resultsshowed that the bulk of job vacancies werefor sales executives, but every segment
would benefit fromthe companies’ expan-sion, said Job-Street.com.
For example, it ex-plained, a surge innew hires for sales
departments will haveto be balanced by asimilar strengtheningof marketing depart-ments.
“There are alsomanufacturing firmsthat have transferredback from China, andforeign investors com-ing to the Philippines,”JobStreet.com said.“With this, job search
should be easier in thefirst quarter of 2013.”The company said
engineers and ac-countants should alsobe more optimistic of landing jobs this year.
Also, junior profes-sionals would find iteasy to look for work as JobStreet.com said57 percent of survey respondents said they
would be hiring peo-
ple with less than fouryears of work experi-ence, while 24 per-cent said they werelooking for supervi-sors and specialists.
“Competition re-mains high for topmanagement posi-tions, such as presi-dent and chief execu-tive, since only asmall sliver—1.6 per-cent—opened theirhiring doors for thisquarter,” Job-Street.com added.
Based on the totalnumber of postings at
pany’s data, there are170,500 unique jobsavailable for local jobseekers.
At an average of three vacancies forevery such job, thismeans there are
about 511,500 job va-cancies in Job-Street.com partner-companies alone.
“With these num-bers at hand, the grad-uating batch shouldnot be scared thatthere’s no place forthem in the corporate
world,” the company said in a statement.

Patok
Chievous.

Balkman tsugikasangga sa Petron.“He (Salud) basically said
I’m the leader and role a modelof kids, (and) that’s what really hurts the most,” sabi ni Balk-man. “In everybody’s eyes I’mthe villain, (but) I’m not thattype of guy.”
“But like I said, that’s un-intentional. It was done inthe heat of the moment. They (teammates) know that I play
wit h a pas sio n for the gam e,”dagdag ni Balkman. “SinceDay 1 I said (that) this(team) is my family, that’s
wha t I fee l.“I treat my guys (teammates)
like my brothers. I’m willing to
make it up, do whatever toshow that I’m not that kind of guy. Whatever happens, if I’mhere I’ll still be part of theteam. I am a member of PetronBlaze right now that is the greatthing about it.”

“I also took into considera-tion Balkman’s evident disre-gard for local and the host
country’s sensibilities highlight-ed by his choking act on-court,in full public view, of his ownteammate,” pahayag ni Salud.
“Stiff as it may be, this de-cision upholds the tenets of contextual accountability andthe overall interest of theleague and its fans,” dagdagni Salud.
Sasagupain ng Boosters angRain or Shine ngayong Sabadosa Panabo, Davao del Sur.

May tatlong koponan (Petron,San Mig Coffee Mixers, Barangay Ginebra Kings) at San Miguel saliga. Kilala ang Ginebra bilangpinaka-sikat koponan sa liga.
‘‘We do not condone his ac-tions. The mandate of our bas-ketball operations has always
been to entertain basketballfans and foster camaraderie anda spirit of healthy competition. We pride ourselves in havinggreat teams who serve as goodrole models to the youth andcommunity,” pahayag ng SMC.
‘‘As such, given the possiblelong-term effect of this incidentto the San Miguel organization’simage, and in consideration of our need to preserve our goodreputation, Management hasdecided to re-evaluate the com-
