Alter’ policy about Reduction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)

At the present date 99% of components in our stock is RoHS compliant.The components still not compliant are hold in stock and still used because there is not the same or equivalent product RoHS compliant, or because the product is a spare part for equipment produced and put on market before 1st July 2006.

Alter Risk Assessment on RoHS

Of the six substances forbidden from electronic equipment (Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Cadmium (Cd), Hexavalent Cromium (Cr-VI), Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)) only two may be present in Alter’s current manufacturing process, Pb and Cr-VI, of whose lead is the more important.

Cr-VI: No more used. May be present within the limit of 0,1% in weight as set by Directive.Lead: We are already using alternative alloys lead-free, but as we still have few components that cannot be soldered

without lead, we have to use some lead-alloy for welding. We are putting any effort on reducing lead weight within 0,1% of products as set by Directive.

Important information to User about disposal, recycling, reuse of this electronic equipment at the end of its useful life (WEEE Directive).

According to Annex IA and IB of EC Directive 200/96/EC this equipment is not included on the list of categories/products covered by the Directive (as a matter of fact it does not perform a function alone, must be included into a larger process equipment and it’s for stationary use).Nevertheless we invite the User to respect the following Directive rules:

• this WEEE is not a municipal waste and should be collected separately according to rules of your country

• the symbol means that this WEEE cannot be disposal in the same place and in the same way like municipal waste

• this WEEE may present risk for environment as well as for person in case of disposal in unauthorized place, due to content of hazardous substances

• for disposal of this WEEE in unauthorized area the User may be charged with a fine or prosecuted by law.

General InformationsThese magnetron heads satisfy the European Standard EN 61010-1.

With reference to EN 61010-1 standard, note:these magnetron heads must be installed and serviced only by qualified personnel.The magnetron heads must only be used by persons acquainted with the regulations covering the application.

The magnetron heads described in this manual have been classified as industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) ra-dio-frequency equipment and the related standard for the Electromagnetic disturbance is the EN55011 (Industrial scientific and medical (ISM) radio-frequency equipment - Electromagnetic disturbance characteristics - Limits and methods of measurement.)

With reference to Basic Standard EN55011, these magnetron heads are included into Group 2 (Microwave generators, Thyri-stor command equipment, Welding equipment, Induction heating equipment or machine, Microwave industrial oven, etc.), Class A (industrial environment): for this reason these magnetron heads shall not be used in the residential, commercial and light-indu-strial environment.

The TMAxx and the TM0xx, when properly installed, comply with the limits of radio disturbance characteristic of a Group2, Class A equipment as stated by EN55011.

A copy of the tests performed may be sent on request. Note that these tests cannot be used as a conformity certificate of the user’s final equipment.

WARNINGS

The TMAxx & TM0xx are powered by AC main line and high voltage (approx 4 kVdc): carefully read this manual before using. Insure correct connections and use.

Failure to comply with the instructions enclosed in this manual may serious injuries to personnel responsible for checking and using the magnetron head, and the risk of general mal-functions of the magnetron head itself.

Avvertenze GeneraliI generatori di microonde della serie TMA/TM0 sono conformi alla Norma Europea EN 61010-1.

Come previsto da tale norma l'apparecchiatura deve essere installata e utilizzata solo da personale qualificato e informato sulle precauzioni e modalità d'uso.

L'apparecchiatura descritta nel presente manuale è una apparec-chiatura ISM, cioè destinata ad utilizzare o generare sul posto energia a radiofrequenza per usi industriali, scientifici, medicali, domestici o similari e la Norma per i limiti di emissione elettroma-gnetica è la EN55011:"Apparecchi a radiofrequenza industriali, scientifici e medicali (ISM) - Caratteristiche di radiodisturbo - Limiti e metodi di misura".

Con riferimento alla norma EN55011, i generatori TMA/TM0 sono classificati fra le apparecchiature del Gruppo 2 (Generatori di microonde, Apparecchiature con comando a tiristori, Saldatrici, Macchine e dispositivi di riscaldamento a induzione, Forni indu-striali a microonde, ecc.), nella Classe A (ambiente industriale): per tale ragione essi non possono essere utilizzati in altri ambienti a meno di verificarne l'idoneità alle relative norme.

I generatori sono conformi ai limiti di radiodisturbo previsti per apparecchiature di Gruppo 2, Classe A previsti dalla norma EN55011.

Copia dei tracciati di prova possono essere inviati a seguito di specifica richiesta.Si sottolinea come tale conformità non possa essere utilizzata in sostituzione di quella che il Costruttore finale deve produrre per certificare la conformità della propria macchina.

AVVERTENZE

I generatori TMAxx e TM0xx sono alimentati sia a tensione di rete (c.a 230 Vac) sia ad alta tensione (c.a 4 kVcc): leg-gere attentamente il presente manuale prima di installare l'apparecchiatura. Accertarsi che il collegamento elettrico e l'uso siano corretti.Il mancato rispetto delle istruzioni comporta seri rischi per il personale addetto all'utilizzo e controllo dell'apparecchiatura, così come la possibilità di provocare guasti alla stessa.

General Description and RatingsThe TMxxx magnetron head may be easily powered by the SM/CM series switch mode power supply which may be pla-ced at a remote place: the power supply provides monitoring for all operating situations and manages the alarm conditions.The head is available as air cooled type (=TMA...) and as water cooled type (=TM0...); both types are manufactured in six versions:the version 40 consists of the following:- an aluminum WR 340 waveguide launcher with flange style PDR26;- a magnetron, with power and characteristics depending from head model (look at table);- a filament transformer;- a thermoswitch to protect the magnetron;- electrical connections by means of plugs and sockets, with the exception of the high voltage anode cable which is con-nected directly to the magnetron; the connector of the control signals is separate from those of main line;- a centrifugal fan (on air cooled type);- a removable aluminium cover;the version 41 is special and has a single socket for connec-tionsthe version 50 has the following parts added to ver. 40:- a microswitch on cover;- an arc detector installed on waveguide launcher;- an air filter (on air cooled type);the version 51 has the following further components (compa-red to ver. 50): - an air pressure switch (on air cooled type) or water flow switch (on water cooled type);- an orange lamp on the rear cover, indicating power on;the version 52 has the high voltage socket added to ver. 50;the version 53 has the high voltage socket added to ver. 51

Descrizione generale e specificheIl generatore TMxxx è facilmente collegabile ad un alimentatore della serie SM/CM e può essere posizionato anche a distanza: l'alimentatore provvede a controllarne tutte le funzioni e a gestire le eventuali situazioni di allarme. I generatori sono disponibili sia con raffreddamento ad aria (=TMA...) che con raffreddamento ad acqua (=TM0...) e ven-gono offerti in sei versioni:la versione 40 comprende le seguenti parti:- una guida di lancio in alluminio di sezione secondo lo standard WR340, con flangia terminale tipo PDR 26;- un magnetron, di potenza e caratteristiche che dipendono dal tipo di generatore (vedi tabella riassuntiva);- un trasformatore di alimentazione del filamento;- un interruttore termico di protezione del magnetron;- connettori scollegabili e separati per i segnali di comando/controllo e linea di alimentazione, con l’eccezione del cavo di alta tensione “anodica” che deve essere collegato direttamente sul magnetron;- una ventola centrifuga (nei generatori raffreddati ad aria);- un coperchio smontabile in alluminio.la versione 41 ha un solo connettore di collegamento (special)la versione 50 ha i seguenti componenti, in aggiunta alla vers. 40:- un microinterruttore sul coperchio;- un sensore di arco elettrico in guida;- un filtro aria di ingresso (nei generatori raffreddati ad aria);la versione 51 ha i seguenti componenti aggiunti alla vers. 50:- un pressostato aria (nei modelli raffreddati ad aria) o un flus-sostato (nei modelli raffreddati ad acqua);- una spia arancione, installata sul retro del coperchio, che indica l'emissione di microonde;la vers. 52 ha il connett. di alta tensione aggiunto alla vers. 50la vers. 53 ha il connett. di alta tensione aggiunto alla vers. 51
