WE are TIPP

Ohio law requires all schools to conduct three types of Emergency Management tests over a three– year cycle. During the month of October, Tipp City Schools will practice its second in the series known as the functional exercise. Safer Schools Ohio states the “focus is to see how policies and procedures work in a realistic, but still simulated setting. Additionally, it allows school administrators to direct staff and students in their response to the hazard. In functional exercises, the practice may include changes in the situation that management must respond to through quick adjustments. A functional exercise consists of one of the protective actions in the functional content areas” of the district’s safety plan. The school district is working with our local law enforcement and first responder teams to coordinate this important drill. The drill will be age appropriate and used as learning opportunities for students and staff. The specific type of simulated emergency in each building will involve a fire drill. The time of the drills will not be announced in advance so that we can more accurately test our district emergency preparedness, proper emergency response actions, response time, and staff responsibilities. The administration and response team will debrief after the functional exercise to learn from the experience and continue to improve.

The Tippecanoe High School Marching Band wowed the crowd again and came home with top honors. The band competed at the Versailles Marching Band Invitational on Saturday and presented an awesome performance of their show titled “Pandora’s Box.” The talented team won the trophy for 1st Place in Class A. The band also earned their second ‘Superior’ rating of the season from the OMEA judges. Congratulations on an outstanding performance!! The Band will compete again on October 20th at the Marion Local Marching Band Invitational.

Unique Opportunity

He explained how the Bengals recruit team sponsors and talked about the Bengals primary target market, which is adults over 40 years old. He also discussed ticketing pricing and strategies they are using to attract millennials. Students also learned about other promotional strategies, such as having a ‘Jungle Zone,’ which attracts families and their children. They discussed how the broadcasting industry has changed over the years, from a system of only a few television and radio networks and affiliates to an ever-increasing variety of specialty stations that all have to be coordinated in the stadium and all having their own equipment. Broadcast marketing was explained as a form of advertisement of services or products utilizing television and/or radio broadcasts in order to gain viewers and listeners attention and also product placement in sports shows and endorsements by radio personalities, based on demographic information collected by broadcast and marketing companies. The students learned about the importance of gaining an internship/experience and networking. The stadium tour included the broadcast booth, press box, visitor locker room, and playing field.

The Tippecanoe High School students enrolled in Sports and Entertainment

Marketing , and Broadcasting traveled to Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati for

an amazing educational opportunity. The students in the classes of Nick

Albers and Pam Staub met with the Cincinnati Bengals Senior Corporate

Sales Manager who discussed marketing and provided a glimpse into

this exciting career.

What ’s for Lunch?

LT Ball Intermediate’s Kitchen Manager, Tammy Green, takes great pride in providing a nutritious lunch that students enjoy. One recent incredible student school lunch served to 4th and 5th graders, and some staff included Italian Chicken Marinara with Spaghetti, a tossed salad or baby carrots, a choice of fruit, and a choice of milk. It was delicious! Ms. Green works diligently to vary her menus and encourage students to sample new foods.
