PORT OPERATION SERVICES Modern cargo handling systems necessitate the need for employing sophisticated software and cargo handling equipment which would include quay side container cranes, rubber tired Gantry Cranes, Top Lift trucks, Reach Stackers, Empty Stackers, Ship to Shore Cranes, Terminal Tractors, and Grain Unloaders, Bagging Machine in conjunction with many other machineries, tools and software are providing a “Mechanized Cargo Handling System” that facilities the loading and unloading of various types of vessels, in a reasonable time frame. Port operation services are divided in to three major categories:
- Container operation
- General Cargo operation
- Bulk Cargo operation
• CONTAINER OPERATION
Tidewater Middle East Marine Services Company is the major container terminal operator in Iran with more than 10 years experience in this field. Since 1994 Tidewater has been the main container terminal operator at Bandar Abbas (Shahid Rajaee Port Complex) which is the main gate way of containerized cargoto/from Iran where 90% of total Iranian container throughput has been handled. By handling 1,150,000 TEUS, the target of 1 million TEUS has been passed in 2004.This reached 1,410,000 TEUS in 2006 and around 1,700,000 TEUS in 2007.
In order to ensure that the operation is going on smoothly, Shahid Rajaee Container Terminal is fully controlled online by sophisticated software (TCTS) which has been developed by Tidewater “IT” division.

Presently most well known shipping lines such as IRISL, CMA-CGM, Evergreen, Ignazio Messina, K-Line, Maersk Line, MISC, MSC, NYK, PIL, Regional Container Line (RCL),UASC, SimaTech, YML, OOCL, COSCO, Hanjin, China Shipping Container Line, TS-Line, Emirates United Arab Shipping Company and WanHai have direct and / or regular services to Shahid Rajaee Port Complex.
:Bandar abbas Container Terminal Expansion
The first phase of the construction of the planned new, second container terminal atBandar abbas (Shahid Rajaee Port Complex) is scheduled for completion in 2007 by Iranian Port & Shipping Organization Investment. This will comprise 850m of quay with 17 M depth, a 67 Ha container yard, and eight Super Post-Panamax Gantry Cranes , 18 RTG and 45 Terminal Tractors
Phase Two of the project is expected to be completed after 2010, providing approximately 2020m of additional quay length with 16 m depth and a 80 ha container yard and 18 Post Panamax Gantry Cranes, 45 RTG and sufficient number of Terminal Tractor and other required equipments. Following this expansion, the total annual capacity at Bandar abbas will exceed 6 Million TEU.

Tidewater Middle East Marine Services has a long experience on dredging services since 1994 in northern and southern Iranian ports (Amirabad , Bandar Abbas, BIK, Khorramshahr, Khark island, Anzali, Bushehr) and neighboring countries ports for expanding this capabilities.
Tidewater Company has been established a new company called “NEGIN-e SABZ MIDDLE EAST Compamy” as an affiliate company for dredging and marine engineering services in 2003, managed by a group of qualified experts. This company (fully owned by Tidewater) have the largest fleet is Iran (equipped by cutter suction and hopper suction dredgers).
