A social event could bring you into contact with some interesting people in fascinating fields,Aquarius, some from distant places. Discussions could turn you on to one or more new in-terests, which you will probably want to pursue later. You might receive an invitation to visitan exotic place. If you're single, you could meet a potential lover. This will be an evening toremember.

A burst of physical energy might have you spending hours working out today, Pisces. You might decide to try a new and ambitious exercise program. Take care not to pushyourself past your limits. A heightened sense of adventure combines with a powerful de-sire to be fit, and it might drive you to exhaustion if you aren't careful. You have to learnto crawl before you learn to walk.

Are you involved in an ambitious, creative project of some kind, Aries? You might haveso much to do that you decide to take on a partner, if you haven't already. When youand this person work together, the whole is definitely greater than the sum of the parts.Without him or her, you might try to do the whole project yourself, which won't do youor the project any good.

The desire to improve your home's appearance might suddenly come over you today, Tau-rus. Whether you're planning some redecorating, landscaping, refurnishing, or simply athorough cleaning, you will probably take the bull by the horns and concentrate on nothingelse. The results will speak for themselves. Get family members to help you. You won'twant to be too tired to enjoy what you've done.

Much of your day may be spent running around your neighborhood, Gemini, perhaps in thecompany of your partner. You may have a lot of errands to run, or perhaps you're just antsyand unwilling to spend the day indoors. Whichever it is, you may come into contact withsome unusual people and events. Take a notebook and camera. You might want a recordof it all.

A financial windfall might come your way, Cancer. This may not be a lottery win or sur-prise inheritance. It's probably something you've worked hard for, but more than you ex-pected. As a result, you could walk around in a daze for much of the day. Don't try tomake plans for it. Put it aside until you're used to the idea of having it. Only then willyour practical nature kick in.

You're probably feeling full of energy, Leo, and looking for an outlet for it aside from theusual jog or workout. A hike along a scenic path would be just the thing. Phone a friend andsee if you can arrange to do it together. Your friend will probably be as enthusiastic as you.You may enjoy yourselves so much that you decide to make it a weekly event.

Your subconscious mind is active today, Virgo, perhaps releasing old traumas from the past.Memories from long ago could pour into your mind as though floodgates were opened. Many of them won't be pleasant. This is good nonetheless. You're releasing obstaclescaused by these memories. By the end of the day you will feel so much lighter. Make themost of it.

You tend to be an adventurous soul by nature, Libra. Today the desire to do somethingyou've never done before could be overwhelming. You might toy with outrageous ideas likelearning to skydive or bungee jump. You probably you won't go that far, but you could optfor something like river rafting or mountain climbing. You have a lot of options open to you.Think about them.

If you've been thinking about studying astrology, Scorpio, this is the day to do it. Even if youalready know the field, you might decide to branch out into a newer or more radical aspect, such as Draconic or galactic astrology. You will learn more quickly and retain more of whatyou learn, so no matter what interests you, this is the day to put some effort into learningmore about it.

Your innate sense of adventure is active today, Sagittarius. Travel is on your mind. You andsome friends may kick around ideas for an unconventional trip to an exotic place, such assailing to Tahiti. The urge could pass, but it might not. Do some research and find out whatyour options really are. It might not work out as you visualized, but a little adventure coulddo you some good.

Career matters may involve some touchy circumstances that require ingenious methods tosolve, Capricorn. You're in the right frame of mind to come up with them. You're definitelyup for a challenge, and you will probably dig right in and come up with lots of great ideas. These concepts will not only get you through the current situation but also prove useful inthe future. Go to it.

  • (NC) Nutritious pet food can be expensive, but it’s a lot more af-fordable when you make it yourself. The staff at Harrowsmithmagazine have put together an easy recipe for extremely low-carbdog biscuits.

It’s been a resounding success with each of the 10 dogs who sam-pled them — even the two with sensitive stomachs. Every ingre-dient packs a nutritional punch.

NO-FAIL DOG BISCUITSPrep time: 15 minutes Cook time: 12 to 22 minutesMakes: 20 biscuits

Ingredients:3 tbsp (45 mL) sunflower seed butter4 tbsp (60 mL) canned pumpkin1 tbsp (15 mL) coconut oil, melted1 egg1 cup (250 mL) chickpea (garbanzo bean) flour1 tsp (5 mL) ground flaxseeds1 tsp (5 mL) ground turmeric2 tsp (10 mL) dried parsley flakes

In medium mixing bowl, mix sunflower seed butter, pumpkin, coconut oil and egg. Add chickpea flour, flaxseeds, turmeric andparsley flakes, and mix until combined.Dust dough (which will be sticky) and your hands as needed withchickpea flour. Scoop out dough about ½ tsp (2 mL) at a time, roll into balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Notethat biscuits won’t spread and can be placed close together. Pressdown on each ball to make fingerprint in centre (dip your fingerin water to prevent sticking).Bake in 350°F (190° C) oven for 12 minutes for soft biscuits, or22 minutes for crunchier biscuits. Remove from oven and let coolon baking sheet. Store in an airtight container in fridge for up totwo weeks.Get more pet-friendly tips at harrowsmithmag.com.

  • RYAN & THE MOVIES- THE KID WHO WOULD BE KING -

The director of Attack the Block returns

with The Kid Who Would be King, a

    charming English fantasy that provides

the proper stakes. It also works like a com-

panion piece to his prior film with its

theme of teamwork and finding friend-

ships in the most unlikely of places. There

is a childlike joy to the film and it almost

feels like director Joe Cornish has been

dreaming of telling this sort of story since he was the same age

as the protagonists. It also earns its PG rating as it can get quite

intense for a younger audience. This is an example of how the

Brits seem to have a real knack for fantasy, especially those in-

volving children dealing with monsters and creatures. Characters

namedrop the likes of Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings, as

the film seems to be employing a similar awe for the magical. It

nicely expands on the Arthurian mythology and has cast a tal-

ented group of young actors to bring something to these charac-

ters. Even at two hours and ten minutes, the movie flies by as our

leads hop from one location to the next with a sense of adventure

and wondering where the next step will take them.
