Dear School Administrator: This fall, Chevron’s Fuel Your School program will support public education in Harris County schools (K-12) by helping educators receive funding for eligible classroom projects through DonorsChoose.org , an online charity that organizes funding for schools across the country. Here’s how you can help: Forward this flyer to your teachers now so they can start thinking about their needs for the coming year and register with DonorsChoose.org . Then, from September 1 to November 30, they can post a project for up to $2,000 for their classroom. Note that the earlier they post their project, the better their chance is to receive funding. Visit www.fuelyourschool.com/houston for program details, official rules and more. Fill your tank at a participating Chevron or Texaco station during October and Chevron will donate $1 per 8-gallon or more fill up, up to $1 million, to help fund local projects. Learn more: For a more in-depth orientation on submitting projects, DonorsChoose.org is hosting a teacher webinar: Wednesday, August 22, 2012 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. RSVP to: [email protected] . This is a great opportunity to help fuel learning in Houston. Please help spread the word by telling teachers, friends and family about this special program, and be sure to “Like” us on Facebook where you’ll find program updates and ideas.
