Bruno Bock is one of the world’s leading producers of

Mercaptocarboxylic Acids and its derivatives. Based on

these Mercaptocarboxylic Acids different multifunctional

mercapto compounds, which are called Polythiols,

are produced. The range of products includes com-

pounds of different functionality and molecular weights.

Polythiols are applicable manifold as reactive crosslink-

ing agents in Coatings, Adhesives and Sealants. They

can be used together with isocyanates, epoxies and

unsaturated compounds. All reactions can also be per-

formed by UV or electron beam curing. Among its high

reactivity these compounds show a low viscosity which

make them interesting for VOC-compliant Coatings.

On customer request special Polythiols based on

polyester polyols and polyetherpolyols can also be

synthesised.

To offer our customers optimal technical support, we

have established in 2010 a new Technical Service Center

for Coatings, Adhesives & Sealants. Our intention is to

answer your technical questions, give recommendations

for formulations and assist in problem-solving.

BRUNO BOCK Chemische Fabrik GmbH & Co. KG is a

privately owned enterprise, founded 1937 in Hamburg

as a trading company later specializing in manufacturing

of ORGANIC SULFUR CHEMICALS. Production of Thio-

glycolic Acid started 1950. In 1968 the company out-

grew the available facilities in Hamburg and moved to

Marschacht on the southern bank of the river Elbe 30 km

east of Hamburg. In the 1990s the production of 3-Mer-

captopropionic Acid, Thiolactic Acid and their derivatives

like Polythiols started.

In September 2005 BRUNO BOCK acquired the Evans

Chemetics business with its production site in Waterloo,

NY, establishing EVANS CHEMETICS LP as fully owned

subsidiary in the USA. Since January 2006 Evans

Chemetics LP with its headquarters located now in

Teaneck, NJ, distributes also BRUNO BOCK products in

the USA which are only produced in Germany. See also
