Media outlets spreading fake information and cheap rhetoric endanger the lives of our soldiers and diplomatic staff.” He asked the Centre to take steps to check “social media retribution” while also allowing for “critical mainstream opinions, analyses and reporting” on the issue. His statement comes in the backdrop of the PM’s all-party meeting with opposition leaders. He condemned the attempts to politicise the Indian Army. “When they (Army) remain a professional force, they will advise the govt of the day fearlessly and corre- ctly. As we are on the topic of the armed forces, it is important to institute an enquiry on the deaths of soldiers in Galwan Val- ley, and know exactly what led to the tragic event,” he said. J&K: 6 more ultras killed in separate encounters SRINAGAR: Six more militants were killed in two separate encounters with security forces in Pulwama and Shopian districts of J&K on Friday, taking the number of ultras killed in the overnight operations to eight, officials said. While two militants were killed in the Pulwama encounter, four were killed in Shopian operation on Friday. The militants belonged to Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar- e-Tayyeba. Forces launched a cordon and search operation at Meej in Pampore area of Pulwama on Thursday morning after receiving specific informa - tion, a police official said, adding the search turned into an enco- unter after militants fired upon a search party. One militant was killed in the gunfight on Thursday, but two more ultras entered a nearby mosque to take refuge inside it. The cordon around the mosque was maintained throughout the night. On Friday morn - ing, forces used tear smoke shells to force the holed up militants out of the mosque. The two were killed by the forces while main- taining the sanctity of the religious place, the officials said. SANGRUR/MANSA: Amid touching scenes, mortal re- mains of soldiers Gurbinder Singh and Gurtej Singh who died fighting Chinese troops in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley were consigned to flames at their native villages in Punjab with full military honours on Friday. Sepoys Gurbinder Singh (22) and Gurtej Singh (23) were cremated in their native Tolawal village at Sunam in Sangrur district and Bire Wala Dogra in Budhladha tehsil of Mansa district in the state. Heart-wrenching scenes were witnessed as family members of the soldiers were inconsolable. Gurbinder's brother lit the funeral pyre, while Gurtej's father and elder brother lit the pyre in the presence of officials from the Army, police, civil administration and political parties. Scores of villagers gathered to bid a tearful adieu to the fallen soldiers, who were given a gun salute by the Army. Last rites of 2 soldiers performed in Odisha BHUBANESWAR: The last rites of two soldiers from Odisha were per- formed with full mili- tary honours at their native places on Fri- day. The body of Naib Subedar Nanduram Soren (43) was con- signed to flames as per Santhali customs at Champauda village in Mayurbhanj dis- trict. Soren's nephew Kanhu Soren lit the pyre in the presence of his family members and relatives. —Agencies OUR BUREAU New Delhi Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asked PM Modi to prevent entry of China into telecom, railways and avia- tion in the light of its aggression on the Indian territory of Ladakh and inhuman killing of 20 Indian Army personnel. Leaders of 20 political parties participated in the all-party meeting video-conferenced by the PM to discuss the most vio- lent clashes in decades between the Indian Army and the Chinese PLA (People’s Liberation Army) in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley Mon- day night. Several small parties like AAP, RJD and AIMIM were not invited in the meeting that lasted two and a half hours. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Min- ister Subrahmanyam Jais- hankar briefed the parties on the developments in Galwan Valley and the current situation at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. Stressing that China is not a democracy but a dictatorship, Mamata said they can do what they feel. “We on the other hand, have to work together. Speak with unity. Work with unity. Government of Tamil Nadu has offered to sell by auctionRs.1000.00 crore of new issue for 9 year and Rs.1000.00 croreof new issue for 30 year in the form of stock to the Public byauction for an aggregate amount of Rs.2000.00 crore. Securitieswill be issued for a minimum nominal amount of Rs.10,000/-and multiples of Rs.10,000/- thereafter. Auction which will beyield-based under multiple price format will be conducted byReserve Bank of India at Mumbai Office (Fort) on June 23, 2020.

2. The Government Stock up to 10% of the notified amount ofthe sale will be allotted to eligible individuals and institutionssubject to a maximum limit of 1% of its notified amount fora single bid as per the Revised Scheme for Non-competitiveBidding facility in the Auctions of State Government Securitiesof the General Notification (Annexure II). Under the scheme,an investor can submit a single bid only through a bank or aPrimary Dealer.

3. Interested persons may submit bids in electronic format on theReserve Bank of India Core Banking Solution (E-Kuber) Systemas stated below on June 23, 2020.

a) The competitive bids shall be submitted electronically on theReserve Bank of India Core Banking Solution (E-Kuber) Systembetween 10.30 A.M. and 11.30 A.M.

b) The non-competitive bids shall be submitted electronicallyon the Reserve Bank of India Core Banking Solution (E-Kuber)System between 10.30 A.M. and 11.00 A.M.

4. The yield percent per annum expected by the bidder shouldbe expressed up to two decimal points. An investor can submitmore than one competitive bid at different rates in electronicformat on the Reserve Bank of India Core Banking Solution(E-Kuber) System. However, the aggregate amount of bidssubmitted by a person should not exceed the notified amount.

5. The result of auction will be displayed by Reserve Bank ofIndia on its website on June 23, 2020. Successful biddersshould deposit the price amount of Stock covered by theirbids by means of a Bankers’ Cheque or Demand Draft payableat Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai (Fort) or Chennai onJune 24, 2020 before the close of banking hours.

6. The Government Stock will bear interest at the rate determinedby Reserve Bank of India at the auction. Interest will be paid halfyearly on December 24 and June 24. The Stock will be governedby the provisions of the Government Securities Act, 2006 andGovernment Securities Regulations, 2007.
