From Dameon and Leonie, Baron and Baroness of Aneala, to the populace of Aneala, greetings.
Happy New Year. It is now Anno Societatis Fifty Two.
Leonie is now returned from Festival, where she presented the Hero's Cloak to the King and Queen to bestow on Lord Kit Hackforth of Innilgard for his role as a combat archer in the War, rallying the archers.
Our big event this month has been the 30th Anniversary of Aneala's elevation to a Barony. We held a fantastic feast at St Matthew's Church Hall in Guildford with the founding Baron and Baroness Steveg and Rhianwen in attendance, as well as second Baroness Angharad, fourth Baron and Baroness Hector and Chisiant, fifth Baron and Baroness Nathan and Catherine, eighth Baron and Baroness Kilic and Branwen, and of course ourselves, who are ninth Baron and Baroness of these fair lands.
Thank you to everyone who worked to make the event so special.
The kitchen crew, headed by founding baroness Rhianwen. Thank you, all of you, for the fantastic food, and the hours spent in the kitchen both before-hand and at the event. Those who helped set up the hall, including founding baron Steveg Stevegsson, who was first into the hall after the stewards, and still there in the end, Sir Nathan, Lord Richard, Sir Kane, Lord Agostino, Lady Mery, Lord Robert Fletcher, and many others.Lady Susanna de Plume, for the beautiful Unicorn subtlety. The entertainers, particularly Lord Veil le Pantera and his brave assistant Lady Gwyneth for the fire re-enactment - safe, entertaining, and OUTDOORS.
The Barons and Baronesses who have gone before us, and have built this fine barony over which we currently preside. Thank you for attending, and sharing your stories.
The baronial officers, preforming their offices calmly and competently: Lady Elizabeth Severn - Reeve; Lord Agostino - Constable in charge of this event; Lord Best - Herald; Lady Mery - Arts and Sciences; Mistress Branwen - List-keeper; Lord Richard - Knight Marshal; and Baron Dameon - Rapier Marshal.

Those who entered the Arts and Sciences competition, and congratulations to Lord Imar who won the competition with a beautiful knife. The contestants in Sunday's tourney in the gardens around the hall, in which the winners were Sir Clement von Arlon for the armoured tourney, and Lord Veil le Pantera for the rapier tourney.
We hope every one enjoyed themselves as much as we did.
May Crown is almost upon us, and we look forward to seeing many of you there. Bookings are closed, but there is still time to make recommendations for Kingdom awards, or you can whisper names in our ears to bring to their Majesties' attention.
Bookings are still open for Pencampwr, on the June long weekend. We will be there, and look forward to much fighting and feasting, as well as a long list of interesting A&S classes. Please join us if you can.
Until next time
