DIGGA FIREWATEROne for (igniting) the road.

Benjamin Fox has always loved Gorkamorka, although he has also enjoyedNecromunda, Mordheim and 40K, but it has always been his favourite. It hasnow been thirteen years since he received his first copy of the game and it is

more alive for him than it has ever been.

No matter what happens to the human racesome how they always find some way tomake alcohol, even if the resulting drink isbarely potable.

This universal truth even applied in thedarkness below the pyramids as all sorts ofhorrors were combined and fermented.Techniques were refined and after manyyears a recipe was arrived at that wasapproaching tolerable, even if it was sti l l verymuch an acquired taste. Disti l l ing followedshortly thereafter resulting in a l iquid whichcould disinfect nearly anything coupled withthe advantage of temporari ly blotting out theknowledge that the drinker was trappedbeneath thousands of tonnes of sand.

"Weevil", as it came to be known, was ofcourse extremely flammable and could bequite deadly when ignited in an enclosedarea, as was discovered during the Backstabwar.

These days Weevil is sti l l as popular as ever,becoming ingrained in Digga culture as a riteof passage for Digga children becomingadults, ready to take their first steps Upside.

Sometime in the past...

One such young man was Digga Bliz whoseactions would always be remembered. On

Bliz' 1 5th birthday his father handed him abottle of Weevil to carry with him to theoutside and shared with his friends after hisfirst ki l l , when he became a man, as perDigga tradition.

The twin suns beat fiercely on the mob'strukk that fateful day making every exposedsurface a hot plate, painful to the touch. Inthe sweltering heat Bliz lost his desire toprove himself, the appeal of besting mightygreenskins evaporating away amidst theshimmering desert.

Bottles of Weevil are so called for the large dead

insect that floats within each one. Without it Weevil

essentially turns you blind and robs you of fine

motor function for a month.

The accidental addition of a Weevil to a bottle of

Blind Jakz’ moonshine one day changed things for

the better. The extra ingredient of the chitinous

parts of the creature adds a vital chemical agent

that turns this over-proof mindscrambler into a

deadly incendiary weapon, slowing the burn rate

and increasing the intensity of the flames to create

a compound essentially like napalm and by a

happy coincidence preserves the drinker’s vision.

It cannot be quenched by water but burying a

victim in desert sand seems to help. At least, it

muffles the screaming.

The clatter of ricocheting shoota fire joltedhim back into the moment; they were notalone in the canyon it would seem. Shoutingand whooping the rest of the Diggaboyzopened fire but their excitement was shortl ived as the second burst from the Orksarrived with brutal accuracy. Bliz foundhimself paralysed with fear in the middle ofthe screams and gunfire unti l a burly handcaught him across the face.

A brief moment of panic later he realised thatthe hand belonged to his new boss,Digganob Kronan, and that the massacrehe'd got himself into was apparently howfights were supposed to go!

"Get it together, lad, I need you fighting!"

Kronan was returning fire with his kannonover the edge of the trukk. Thisencouragement was met with nothing but aterrified look from the Digga Yoof. Sighingunder his breath the Digganob tugged a six-shoota from his belt and forced it into theboy's hands.

"Show them what we're made of!"

The weight of the weapon in his handsbolstered Bliz' courage enough to risk a lookover the parapet. The Ork buggy he saw washeading their way; getting to his feet hesqueezed the trigger. The kick of the hugeOrk pistol nearly broke his nose with the firstshot as it reared up but grasping it as firmlyas he could he emptied it at the closingvehicle.

The Orks were getting near now and most ofthe Diggas were either injured or keepingtheir heads down.

"If they board us we're not going to bewalking away. Keep up the-"

Kronan was cut off mid sentence by a shellthrough his left leg, knocking him to theground.

"What do I do, boss?" pleaded Bliz.

"ANYTHING!"

Looking around frantical ly the yoof spotted atorn section of the trukk's sunshade.Something had set it al ight and it hung limply,smouldering gently. An idea in mind he drewhis knife. Hacking off the piece proved easyenough and unslinging his father's bottle ofWeevil from around his neck he stuffed thescrap into the bottle.

There was a loud crunch as the Ork buggybounced off the edge of the trukk, pull ing intoposition alongside it.

Putting his ful l strengthinto it the yoof hurled thebottle at the snarl ingOrks.

As he hit the deck all Bl izheard was the crack ofthe bottle breaking,fol lowed by a soundbest described as"WHOOMPH!".

Risking a look theDigga watched as thebuggy careened intoa rocky outcrop witha loud crash, spil l ingburning Orks in itswake.

Test each turn to see if it continues to burn -on a 4+ the marker remains in play.

Foot models that pass through the markercatch fire on a 4+ (see page 56 of Da Roolz).If a vehicle passes through the marker it wil lreceive D3 S3 hits distributed across randomlocations.

Da End

A well placed bottle of Firewater can be anexcellent area denial tool. You may not knowhow long it is going to last, but neither doesyour opponent!

I suggest using it for making a quickgetaway, or for creating bottlenecks andfunneling the enemy towards your bestfighters. Or if you're feeling like showingthose Orks how it's done use them to makethe world a more unpredictable place, oneburning trukk at a time!

"YEAH! You see what you get?!"

Kronan was upright again, grasping hisinjured leg.

"I think you just saved our hides, lad. Shameabout the booze, but there's plenty moreback home and I reckon you've earned it. "

It wasn't long before the story got aroundand Bliz' tale became legend. From then on itwas commonplace for Diggamobs to carry abottle of Weevil into battle.

The prospect of a stiff drink before a fight isalways a welcome one, but raining fiery deathon one's enemies is an idea any Digga canget behind!

Firewater Rules

Firewater may be bought only by Diggamobsafter any game, or before their first game ifso desired. It is a single use item much likeMutie Obliviators, so after it is used in battlecross it off your roster. It can be used byother mobs if a captured warrior is carrying abottle of it.

Firewater - 2 Teef

Bottles of Firewater are thrown in the samemanner as normal stikkbombs (see page 21of Da Roolz).

Once the template has been placed itremains on the board (for at least one wholeturn) after it's thrown.
