It is wonderful to be a Christian and joyfully experience the life, peace and freedom one can only know when he is in Christand abiding in him (John 15:1-14). Unlike the rest, a Christian is one who knows the immeasurable joy felt within the heart by having remission of sins and removal of guilt (Acts 2:38). Like the obedient believers on Pentecost (Acts 2:46-47), the Eunuch of Ethiopia (Acts 8:39), and so many others throughout the book of the Acts of the Apostles, we rejoice and praise God that our sins are forgiven through Christs atoning sacrifice. Jesus came not into this world for the purpose of condemning us (John 3:17) (which he rightfully might have done due to our unrighteousness), but rather He came to deliver and save us from our sins (Matthew 1:21). According to Jesusteaching in John 3:18-21, you and I have the obligation of making a choice as we live in the present: (1) to come into the light and walk with Jesus and consequently experi- ence no condemnation, or (2) remain in darkness and continue walking in our evil ways and thereby incur Gods wrath and be punished with everlasting destruction” (2 Thessalonians 1:9). The choice is a personal one. One of Christs apostles once asked the stirring question: Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?(Romans 2:4). May our hearts not be deceived and so hardened by the deceitful- ness of sin until we fail to be moved by Gods grace and loving-kindness. May you and I show our love to God today, and love Him supremely because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19). Dear friend, today is the day of salvation. You cant afford to defer making the right decision! You will be far better served by serving the Lord. Tomorrow may be too late! - Tim Childs

Spiritual Life Is in Christ

The words of Jesus continue to resonate while bringing reassurance and joy to our hearts since they are just as true as the day they were spoken by our gracious Lord: “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10; cf. 1 John 5:11-12). It is wonderful to be a Christian and joyfully experience the life, peace and freedom one can only know when he is “in Christ” and abiding in him (John 15:1-14). Unlike the rest, a Christian is one who knows the immeasurable joy felt within the heart by having remission of sins and removal of guilt (Acts 2:38). Like the obedient believers on Pentecost (Acts 2:46-47), the Eunuch of Ethiopia (Acts 8:39), and so many others throughout the book of the Acts of the Apostles, we rejoice and praise God that our sins are forgiven through Christ’s atoning sacrifice. The choice is a personal one. The Elders’ Edification

A Genuine Bargain In Religion

by: Gerald Cowan

It takes more than a reduced price to qualify as a real bargain. Some fixed price items can be bargains too, if what you get is worth more than you pay, even at a full undiscounted price. People may be bargain hunters in religion too. They seek a religion that provides benefits greater than the cost. What they often end up with is something that cannot provide their real spiritual needs, but people will accept it because of the reduced cost and commitment on their part. They want to be accepted and approved even though they make a minimal contribution in service, money, etc. True Christianity is "fair traded." The price is not negotiable but fixed. Its price cannot be lowered or raised. The cost is complete surrender and commitment of oneself to the Lord, willingness to be added to the one and only true church by the Lord Himself, and to function only under His headship. Even with the extremely high cost, Christianity is a bargain. The forgiveness of sins, ability to cope with the demands of life, endless spiritual blessings, and the promise of heaven at the end of it - this far outweighs the cost. It is worth noting that the cost for the Christian is less than what it cost Jesus Christ to provide salvation and heaven for sinners. Be glad you don't have to pay that price.
