A note from Anni:

Anni Wunderlich, President

Hello Everyone:

The headline for this issue is:

JOHN ELLIOTT SWANSON is retiring from the Board …. yes, my friend and side-kick has decided to ‘throw in the towel’; John has served on the board in various capacities throughout the years, and is a past President. Helene, his lovely wife, has been at his side and has been CQ’s historian. Both John and Helene will continue to support CQ’s, but John is handing his job to a ’fresh face’. Jim Rose has agreed to step in as Vice President, and you will see his name on the ballot, so please don’t for-get to vote.

I have been to Australia and back since my last note, and I thank John for filling in during my ab-sence.

We have been experiencing excellent attendance at our dances .. March 7 “Tick Tock” with Jeanette and Bernie, March 21 “St. Pat’s Hangover” with Mike and Joyce, April 4 “Easter Bonnet” with Millie Dusha, and April 18 “Purple People Eater” with the DJ Duke, Gary Clayton.

Coming up: May 2 “BLACK AND WHITE BALL” with DJ’s Mike and Joyce, May 16 “Backwards” with Millie Dusha, May 30 “Flower Power” with par-ty girl, Jamie Hogan, June 6 “Polka Dots” with the DJ Duke, Gary Clayton, and June 20 “Sweet Dreams” with the dynamic duo Van and Celia.

As you can see, we have a line up of fun dances coming your way, and Van and Celia Liang will be joining our DJ family in June, so please give them a warm welcome. All dances in May and June will be at Barrett Community Center.

Unfortunately the Belmont Parks and Recrea-tion Department have decided to close all their facilities over Christmas and New Year, which means we do not have a hall for our NYE dance, however, I am doing my utmost to find a substi-tute.

In May twenty six members will be traveling to Tennessee to start their “Pigeon Forge Adven-ture”; as most of you know, this is home to Doug and Jackie Miranda, creators and organiz-ers of The Vegas Dance Explosion. Doug and Jackie also own the Grand Majestic Theater in Pigeon Forge, and we will be going to two of their dinner shows. We’ll also be going to their very first “Smoky Mountain Shindig”, so to those of you not going … eat your hearts out, and think of going next year.

You will see a membership form on the back page, and I hope that you’ll all renew your mem-berships in the ‘Club with a Heart’. We rely on you to help the club stay alive, and you can do that for a mere $18.00, not only do you receive this publication bi-monthly, your admission is only $10.00 rather than $12.00, and you get in free the month of your birthday .. what a deal.

On that note I’ll say, Cheerio .. and remember, at CQ’s we ‘dance for the health of it’.
