Inspire a Shared Vision

created by the congregation of St. Paul’s United Church

We all drink from the same spring. Justice for all people in all ways. Loving and including all children. Five loaves, two fish. We are all one, strength together. Together we are stronger.

Listen with an open heart and walk beside all. Jesus was a hippie who got crucified. He inspires a future of speech and self-sacrifice over swords or slaughter.

The prompt seems confusing and dispiriting because the churches are so divided – creating conflict more than shared vision. Is there darkness? Is there light? Yes. Confusion? Establish a focus. Breathing hope.

Love Universal, taught and shown. By his actions. Alone and together, we are expressions of God’s intention. Others envision and aspire to follow. Inspiration to care and act.

Come, follow me! – an invitation. Connecting and finding JOY while sharing a meal together (wine even!). To be secure enough to be insecure so we can bring love to those gnarly and difficult places.

Jesus gathers all. Treat others as you would have them treat you. Talking to those who are viewed as of lesser value. Kindness, empathy, love, connected. Giving kindness. To give to God, give to the least. Come and be part of the circle. Even if you are a loner, you can still be part of the circle We have things to teach each other. Rim? Spokes? Part of the wheel. Carried along…

Through his teaching with his parables With beautiful allegories By advancing equality His Love for ALL should inspire each of us to serve others and make the world a better place.

The future is here and far away— we are living in God’s time and our limited mortal time. Jesus gave us time and inspired us. If it were not so,

I would have told you.

Collaborative

Poetry Creation

Each week we will be asking for your participation to build a series of poems that reflect your

collective thoughts on the themes of Jesus and Leadership. You will receive information and a new set of instructions during each service. Once compiled, the poems will be displayed in the Friendship Room and on the church

website for further reflection.

Refugee Support

The Social Justice Committee is looking for a few different items and some help with refugee support: - cell phones - occasional help with moving furniture - help with resume writing: when job hunting, a strong resume is vital. Some of our newcomer friends need help to ensure resumes highlight their abilities, are well formatted and have excellent grammar. If good resume writing is one of your skills, they would appreciate your help.

If you can help, please contact Heather Razaghi at [email protected] Thank you!

40acts

For a few years many of us have been part of a movement in Lent called 40acts. We are inspired by stories world-wide, and find opportunities for generosity that God presents to us. Please join us! Here is a video for you to watch and share about 40acts 2018. Or go directly to 40acts.org.uk

You won’t be sorry!

The Flower Committee is providing you with the opportunity to have a plant placed in the sanctuary on Easter Sunday in honour of someone special or in memory of a loved one. After Easter Sunday worship you may take your plant home. Orders will be taken in the Friendship Room after worship on March 11th & 18th. Prices: Easter lily $15; hydrangea $30

The deadline for ordering is March 18th.
