Thank you. I am at a loss for words. Thank you to all those who voted for AAA again for

ApHC Exemplary Club.

It is an incredible honor, particularly given that we had to really top ourselves for a three-peat,

but to win against such strong competition is just amazing. This year was tough, and our

members were determined! The amount of team work and "can do" attitude from our club

always leaves me in awe. Thank you to all our AAA members for always going above and

beyond.

Congratulations to all the clubs that sent in your submissions, it is proof that we as a regional

club may be small but we can also be mighty in our drive and ambition to promote the

Appaloosa Horse. Keep up the good work as we all march on to promote our breed.

Kelly Potter, President AAA

Upcoming Events:

Stay tuned for our one day, one judge show to be held in Prescott in August. In November, we

plan to be back at the Western Saddle Club for our annual Turkey Trot show.

Our trail riding committee is busy planning our Fall trail ride, a date has yet to be selected, but

it is normally held in October or November.

From The Desk Of The President,

On the ApHC 2013 Exemplary Club of the Year Award:

Page 4: The Spot News, April 2014

2013 was a year chock-full of events for Arizona Appaloosa Association members. The club put on four shows, two trail rides, a clinic, five regular board meetings, a general membership meeting, supported a youth World team, supported a youth scholarship, kept members informed through Facebook updates, website updates and YouTube updates, plus wrote an article for the Appaloosa Journal. Members were seen competing on the open circuit as part of the ACAAP program, we even had a member on television as a guest rider (Lisa Hefner) on Julie Goodnight’s show. Our youth rode our colorful Appaloosas in multiple parades in their 4-H clubs, and two of our members entered contests, such as the Ultimate Cowgirl Contest and the Miss Rodeo Arizona pageant. We even held a meet-n-greet at the Appaloosa Library in Scottsdale, where Shannon Wilson took her colorful Appaloosa to meet the children. Arizona members teamed up with California members to plan the Casino Classic, held in Las Vegas, Nevada. A few pages of our scrapbook submission are shown here for you. AAA Spring Trail Ride

Dee Dee, Trevor and Jamie

On March 29th, the AAA held its Spring Trail ride at Brown’s Ranch in North Scottsdale. We welcomed eighteen riders to enjoy the

beautiful Spring day. Please enjoy our pictures. Our trail rides are always open to all breeds and riders. We will host a ride again in

the fall and some of us get together in smaller groups to ride.
