Prayer for Those Struggling with Infertility God of All Life

You fill what is empty, You make abundant what is scarce, You bring to bloom what is barren.

We ask your presence and care for all those who seek to be parents. Bless them with the conception, healthy de-livery and joyful rearing of children to cherish made in your image and likeness. Dwell with them and console

them as they wait for the gifts given in your good time.

With Sarah and Abraham, Rachel and Jacob, Hannah and Elkanah, Zachariah and Elizabeth, we pray. Amen.

Miscarriage Prayer By Mother Angelica

My Lord, the baby is gone! Why, my Lord— dare I ask why? It will not hear the whis-per of the wind or see the beauty of its parents’ face— it will not see the beauty of Your creation or the flame of a

sunrise. Why, my Lord? “Why, My child— do you ask ‘why’?

Well, I will tell you why. You see, the child lives. Instead of the wind he hears the sound of angels singing before My throne. Instead of the beauty that passes he sees everlasting Beauty— he sees

My face. He was created and lived a short time so the image of his parents imprinted on his face may stand before Me as their personal intercessor. He knows se-crets of heaven unknown to men on earth. He laughs with a special joy that only the innocent possess. My

ways are not the ways of man. I create for My Kingdom and each creature fills a place in that Kingdom that could not be filled by another. He was created for My joy and

his parents’ merits. He has never seen pain or sin. He has never felt hunger or pain. I breathed a soul into a seed,

made it grow and called it forth. ” I am humbled before you, my Lord, for questioning Your wisdom, goodness, and love. I speak as a fool— forgive me. I acknowledge Your sovereign rights over life and death. I thank You for the life that began for so short a

time to enjoy so long an Eternity. Amen.

A Prayer for Pregnant Women Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and

petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of

God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7 God of Infinite Goodness, watch over expectant mothers

as they await the birth of their child. Grant these women confidence and strength to dispel

their anxiety and fear. Bless them with the courage and faith of Mary, always listening to your will and trusting in

your loving care. As they prepare to bring new life into the world, grace them with good health and great joy. We look to you and your Son, Jesus Christ, as a sign of mercy and joy. We ask this through the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes in the name of your Son, Jesus and

the Holy Spirit, now and forever. AMEN.

The Feminine Genius

Pope Saint John Paul I I ’ s Letter to Women

In his groundbreaking letter to women, Pope John Paul II expressed profound gratitude to women serving many different roles in our society:

Thank you, women who are mothers! You have shel-tered human beings within yourselves in a unique ex-perience of joy and travail. This experience makes you become God’s own smile upon the newborn child, the one who guides your child’s first steps, who helps it to grow, and who is the anchor as the child makes its way along the journey of life.

Thank you, women who are wives! You irrevocably join your future to that of

your husbands, in a relationship of mutual giving, at the service of love and life.

Thank you, women who are daughters and women who are sisters! Into the

heart of the family, and then of all socie-ty, you bring the richness of your sensitivi-ty, your intuitiveness, your generosity and

fidelity. Thank you, women who work! You are present and active in every area of life-

social, economic, cultural, artistic and po-litical. In this way you make an indispen-sable contribution to the growth of a cul-ture which unites reason and feeling, to a

model of life ever open to the sense of ‘mystery’, to the establishment of eco-

nomic and political structures ever more worthy of humanity.

And for those days when you feel overwhelmed, con-sider this encouraging quote from the future saint:

Thank you, every woman, for the simple fact of being a woman! Through the insight which is so much a part of your womanhood you enrich the world’s understand-

ing and help to make human relations more honest and authentic.

How can you make a

difference for SEAS students?

By donating to CTSO and designating St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School as the beneficiary, you will help to provide scholarships directly to our SEAS students, and you can claim up to $2,269 (when married filing jointly) of that donation as a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your State

taxes! Visit www.CTSO-Tucson.org for more information or to make a donation.

More than half of our students rely on tuition assistance, and your support is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for giving our children the gift of a Catholic education!

From an early age St. Rita desired to become a nun, but her parents insisted that she marry. Out of obedience to her parents' wishes, St. Rita entered an arranged mar-riage at the age of twelve. Adding to her disappoint-ment, her husband was cruel and harsh; she spent eight-een years in a very difficult relationship. Her husband eventually became physically abusive, yet Rita met his cruelty with kindness and patience. After many years of prayer, patience, and trust in God, she eventually won her husband over to greater civility and kindness. She also bore two sons whom she loved deeply. Unfortunately, many circumstances in Rita’s life changed quickly. And after the death of her husband and her two sons, St. Rita was all alone in the world. She again sought to enter the convent, as had been her desire from child-hood. However, she was turned away because of her family's association with the civil strife; some of the sis-ters living in the convent were family relations of the men who were responsible for killing her husband. To maintain peace in the convent, she was denied entry. St. Rita certainly had a difficult life, yet her heartbreaking circumstances drove her to prayer and helped her to become a holy woman. She began her work of interces-sion for sinners while she lived, starting with those clos-est to her heart. Through her love and prayers she won the grace of conversion for her husband and both of her sons. Although her life was filled with sorrows and disap-pointments, Rita persevered through her trials and was consoled by closely uniting herself with the sufferings of Christ. And he did not abandon her; rather he granted her profound and intimate graces. Now a saint in heav-en, she helps those who are in great need, just as she once was in her earthly life. St. Rita of Cascia is the patron saint of impossible causes, sterility, abuse victims, loneliness, marriage difficulties, parenthood, widows, the sick, and bodily ills and wounds. St. Rita, pray for us!
