Principal’s Report:
Social
Well done and many thanks to our SRC who have done an out-
standing job, under the watchful eye of Mrs Borger, to organise
our school Social tonight. I am sure it will be a colourful and
“fun night”. A few things to consider are:
It will be cold outside the hall so remember to bring some-
thing warm.
Plan thoroughly to be dropped off and picked up at the end
of the night. Doors open at 10pm social finishes at 10.30pm.
Current RSC students ONLY allowed entry.
Dress appropriately and please do not wear anything that
can be perceived as offensive.
Drug and alcohol free event of course.
If you have planned to be picked up there’s really no need
for a phone, I urge students to leave mobile phones at home.
No chewing gum, no glow sticks (when they break fluid can
get in eyes).
No Pass Outs.
Thanks to parents for your support in anticipation.
GAT
Next Tuesday 7th June is a day of no school for students with
the exception of any senior students completing a Unit 3 & 4
subject or an assessed VET course who will complete the Gen-
eral Achievement Test (GAT). Please note that students com-
pleting the GAT will need to make their own arrangements to
get home after the test finishes at 1.15 pm.
All the best to all students completing the GAT, it’s very im-
portant they put their best effort into this test in case they are
unable to complete exam/s later in the year.
New Building Progress
As you know we have been allocated $5m to modernise or re-
build our main wing here at Rochester Secondary College. The
program will take sometime, we will be lucky if any actual
works starts before Christmas but the process has started. We are
currently completing an Asset Management Plan so that we can
be allocated an architect sometime in the next few months. Once
this is done we will have a clearer idea of what might be possi-
ble. Please be aware that parents, staff, students and community
members will have an opportunity to have input into the design-
ing process.
Many thanks for your ongoing support.

Around the College SRC School Social Tonight
“Around the World”
T he Social is on tonight with doors opening at 7.30 pm.
This is for all students but particularly for our Year
7’s, it is an exciting event and we want them all to
have a great experience. Whether they choose to dress up is
up to them. There will be prizes for ‘best dressed’ at each
year level. As always, the SRC representatives chose our
theme and this year they have gone ‘International’. Cost will
be $3 if in costume or $5 if not in costume. A canteen will
be available to purchase drinks and snacks.
We will have our usual professional security presence and a
dedicated handful of staff who volunteer their time so that our
students can enjoy themselves in a safe and inclusive space.
We request that families make sure that ALL students are
supervised prior to and after the event. Doors reopen at 10 pm
with the Social finishing at 10.30 pm.
Feel free to call Mrs Borger at the College, if you have any
concerns about this evening.
Year 12 Update
O ur Year 12 students are experiencing a particularly
busy time, due to most classes finishing end of se-
mester assessments. The students should be preparing
for all tasks at home by revising notes and completing prac-
tice tasks.
Tuesday 7th June is the GAT, we have sent home information
through all Year 12 students and those Year 11’s undertaking
a Year 12 subject. It is important that students try their best,
as explained in the documents. The GAT starts at 10 am and
goes for three and a quarter hours. Buses will run as normal
but there will be no organised classes for students due to
teachers working on end of semester reports. Please arrange
for students to be picked up after the GAT or make other ar-
rangements.
Thanks for your ongoing support;
