The aims of the lesson:
• to expand vocabulary,
• to promote discussion,
• to improve reading and writing skills.
The lesson is based on Ph. Delerm’s narrative “The smell of apples”.
What you need:
• apples,
• sticky notes,
• pens,
• a board,
• markers,
• the text “The smell of apples”
Activities before reading
1) A teacher shows an apple and asks a question: What is the first idea that comes to your mind when you see an apple? The learners write their opinions on the sticky notes and attach to the board.

• Is it positive or negative?
