If you missed it this past Saturday, you missed a phantastic Mardi Gras Parade! Thanks to Pattie Zimmerman for chairing the event with the help of her husband Frank, Fancy Nancy and Bayou Bubba, they served up a well-stocked and assorted brunch. 90(+/-) members participated, about 10 decorated golf carts and even Rita, the Jet Ski on land, was there! Weather turned almost perfect at march time. Thanks to all that were there. The parade route was packed with locals and tourist pleading for beads! Great day to be a parrothead! Next up………our annual Chili-Cook-Off. Saturday 4/1/17. Time to get your team together and join in on the phun! Contact Will or Nicole Doyle ([email protected]) for more info! George Dan “Bud” Byram of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. Bud was a native and resident of Port Arthur. Bud attended Texas Christian University before he volunteered to serve his country in the U. S. Army as a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War, where he achieved the rank of Captain. He worked for U.S. Air and spent most of his time as a pilot for Provost Umphrey Law Firm in Beaumont. Bud enjoyed life to the fullest, traveling, riding his motorcycle, spending time on the water and playing music. He was a percussionist with Jerry Diaz and Hannah’s Reef, a local band. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Dan Byram and Mary Eliza-beth Byram, his wife, Janice Byram. Bud is survived by his two sons, Brad Byram and his wife, Lauren of Aus-tin, Clint Byram and his wife, Beth of Buda, Texas, his step-son, Kurt Keys and his wife, Joy of Port Arthur, his step-daughter, Karen Keys Harding and her husband, Tom of Orange, four grandchildren, one great grandson, six step-grandchildren and seven step-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Feldman and her husband, Steve of West Palm Beach, Florida, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. A celebration of Bud’s life will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 2:00 PM till 4:00 PM at the Port Arthur Yacht Club on Pleasure Island, 410 Pleasure Pier Blvd., Port Arthur, TX 77640. Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Crohn’s and Coli-tis Foundation, National Processing Center, P. O.
