Psalm Response: Ps 17 In this individual lament,
the psalmist prays for God’s help against enemies, hoping for vindication. Christians use the imagery at the end of today’s verses as a way of talking about

Rosary Campaign for the Unborn Many thanks to all who participated in the Rosary campaign for the unborn during the month of October. 101 people participated and 1,629 Rosaries were pledged. Pro-Life Christmas Cards The Pro-Life Committee will have Christmas cards available after Masses this weekend, November 9/10. Proceeds benefit Right to Life of Montgomery County. Mass for Those Buried from St. Jane Parish On Wednesday, November 13, at 7:00 pm, we will celebrate a Solemn Requiem Mass in Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed of our parish from the past year. All are invited to attend, especially family members and friends of the deceased of our parish.
Volunteer Certification Update The Archdiocese of Washington Child Protection Policy requires volunteers who have not been fingerprinted, as part of an ADW criminal background report, to be fingerprinted by January 2020. To assist with this process, St. Jane de Chantal school and parish are offering one more opportunity for volunteers to complete the volunteer certification process on Saturday, November 16, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in Caulfield Hall. Pre-registration is required, and is a two-step process: to schedule an appointment and to pre-register with Safe Hire Solutions. Step one, to schedule an appointment on November 16, visit www.signupgenius.com/go/8050848ABAE2AA3F58-virtus. Step two, to pre-register with Safe Hire Solutions, visit https://secure.safehiresolutions.com/livescan-pre-registration-application. Cost is $55 per person; payment by check (must be payable to Safe Hire Solutions) or cash (no credit cards accepted). The session will be conducted by LiveScan Fingerprinting, which will send criminal background reports directly to the archdiocesan child protection office. Sacred Music in a Sacred Space On Sunday, November 24, at 3:00 pm, renowned organist and teacher, Kimberly Marshall, will be performing a program of music from six centuries for St. Cecelia’s Day. Dr. Marshall has performed all over the world and is often sought out for her expertise on early organ works, as well as French Classic and Romantic works. You can hear some of her performing at www.kimberlymarshall.com. Admission is free. All are welcome.

Scholastic Book Fair De Chantal's 2019 Scholastic Book Fair continues this Monday, November 11 through Friday, November 15. Be enchanted by new titles covering extraordinary heroes, teen drama, edge-of-your-seat mysteries, scary stories, fantasy, books for gamers, and so much more! Stories for readers
from Pre-K to ninth grade, along with favorite authors and series, and books for moms and dads, too, will be available. Fun and unique gifts will dazzle kids of all ages, and be the perfect stocking stuffers for Christmas! Hours of the fair are 9:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. The Saints Go Marching In In honor of All Saints Day, the fourth grade students chose saints to research. Each fourth grade student reported on the saint of their choice, and dressed up as their chosen saint for our All Saints Day school Mass. After Mass, the many fourth grade "saints" visited the lower school to share important facts about their saint. It brought the day to life for our school and parish. It reminded us that we are all called to be saints! Spirit Week What a week to be a De Chantal student! The last week of October was Spirit Week, where students, faculty, and administration celebrated school spirit through Pajama Day Monday, Turn Back Time Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday, Halloween Costumes on Thursday, and Blue and White Friday. Halloween parties, pep rallies, and spirit day games made this a fun-filled week. St. Jane de Chantal students wrapped up Spirit Week by giving back to the community. On the afternoon of Halloween, all students took part in a Dance-a-Thon to raise money and awareness for Mary House, a community-based organization that provides transitional housing services, shelter, and support programs to homeless and struggling families.

Catholic Charities Tax Assistance Program Low-income families need your help this coming tax season. Do you use Turbo Tax? If yes, hundreds of low-income families need your help this coming “tax season.” Every year the Catholic Charities’ VITA tax assistance program assists struggling parents with their tax returns, maximizing their refunds to help them achieve financial stability. But we need your help to make sure more families claim their well-deserved Earned Income and Child tax credits. We only ask for eight hours of your time over the course of two Saturdays in February, March and the first half of April. Training classes will be provided in January. Second Collection: Maintenance The second collection this weekend, November 9/10, will be our monthly collection to help with the repair and maintenance of our parish facilities. Poor Box The Poor Box next weekend, November 16/17, will benefit Montgomery Hospice, and its team of doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, spiritual counselors, social workers, certified nursing assistants, bereavement counselors, and volunteers who work with patients and their families to provide quality end-of-life care in homes, extended care facilities, and at Casey House, their acute care facility.
