My dear friends in Christ,
Last week we were faced with heavy winds, driving rains, and a constant howling from the skies as a tornado like storm ripped through our area leaving behind fallen trees and power lines. The corner of Charleston Road and Levitt Parkway looked like a scene from a movie. Utility poles, trees, and wires all making the street impassible. The only thing we could do was to take a lesson from Elijah in our First Reading. Like Elijah, I’d like to hide in my cave from the heavy wind, earthquakes and fires that exist outside my door. But then, how will I hear God’s voice? How will I work within the community that God had entrusted to me? Jesus tells us to take courage so that we can continue the work we have been called to do, no matter how challenging and unpredictable it has become. And so we pray: Lord, save me! I can’t do this on my own. Give me courage to keep my eyes on you amidst the storm, give me strength to continue to move forward despite the challenges, give me faith to believe the storm will eventually subside.
We are currently looking for a skilled Facilities/Maintenance Manager. Candidate should be able to display strong problem solving and decision-making skills with a solid understanding of building maintenance, repairs, refurbishments and cleaning. You must be able to read manuals and have knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices. You must also possess manual dexterity and physical stamina. Department of Evangelization and Family Life The 2020 BISHOP’S ANNIVERSARY BLESSING events scheduled for October 2020 have been “canceled” due to COVID-19. Please save this date, OCTOBER 3, 2021, for Burlington/Mercer Counties at the Cathedral of St. Mary in Trenton. Couples celebrating 1st/2nd, 25th/26th and 50 or more anniversaries will be invited to attend. More information will follow as this event nears.

Interested in becoming Catholic? If so, think about joining the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA), the formation process by which adults enter the Catholic Church. The process is for persons who: • have never been baptized • have been baptized in a Christian faith tradition and desire to enter into Full Communion with the Catholic Church • have been baptized Catholic but were never formed in the Catholic faith and have not completed their Sacraments of Initiation: Confirmation and First Eucharist Information Weekends will be held August 8-9 and 15-16 in Bogdan Hall where team members will be available after each Mass to address your questions. Weekend “In-Church” Masses have resumed with restrictions. Masses will be celebrated at 4:00 PM on Saturday and at 9:00 AM on Sunday. There will be no 7:30 AM or 11:00 AM Masses until further notice.
Weekday “In-Church” Masses have now resumed at 8:00 AM. The Church will remain open until 12:00 Noon for private prayer Monday through Friday throughout the Summer.

FROM THE OFFICE OF THE BISHOP Bishop O’Connell announced Friday, July 31, 2020 that due to the persistent nature of COVID-19, the dispensation from the Sunday obligation to attend Mass beyond the aforementioned September 7th has been extended until further notice. JUNE, JULY & AUGUST SUNDAY MASS INTENTIONS If you have reserved a Sunday Mass at 7:30 AM or 11:00 AM, please know that, during these Summer months, those intentions will be offered at the 9:00 AM Mass. Although this is not a practice here at Corpus Christi, it is permissible to offer a Mass for more than one intention. As we near September, we will re-visit the Mass times. We thank you for your understanding during these uncertain times.
