Amritsar is considered to be a holy city. The name is derived from the holy pool beside the Golden Temple. The meaning of the name of the pool is “Holy pool of nectar”. This city is one of the major cities of Sikh residence and the Sikhs are very proud of this city because of the home of the holy Golden Temple. There are a number of visiting places in Amritsar apart from the Golden temple. Some of the names are Jallianwalabagh, Mata Temple, the summer palace of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, Ram Tirth etc.

There comes a time in everyone’s life when the person needs to
make time for him/herself. In today’s world, the increasing
pressure in the work field, professional lifestyle, target driven rat

heart says. Travelling is the best medicine for rejuvenation. Punjab

temple is beautifully lit up during the night and worth visiting after
the dusk to behold the enchanting beauty of the temple. The
gigantic pool surrounding the Golden Temple and reflecting the
image is known as “AmritSarovar”. One can always find pilgrims
bathing in the pool with a belief of earning greatness. The Hotels in

seeing these magnificent architectures.
JallianwalaBagh is at a distance of 5 minutes by walk. It’s a ground
where the 1919 mass massacre took place. On April 13 of that year,
the British army soldiers open fired on an unarmed gathering of
men, women and children killing 1579 people within a lasting
period of 10 minutes. The bullet holes on the ground wall and the
adjoining building are still found and the massacre still cries loudly
in the hearts of the visitors. Mata Temple is a labyrinthine Hindu
temple dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Laldevi. The temple is for
the women who wish to get pregnant and have kids. The summer
palace of Maharaja Ranjit Singh is in the Rambagh Park. The palace
now owns a museum. Ram Tirth is considered to be the place
where Devi Sita gave birth to the sons of Lord Ram namely Lav and
Kush. This place is popular among the Hindu pilgrims and definitely
deserves a visit.
