PROJECT BRIEF The Milton & Tamar Maltz Performing Arts Center e Milton & Tamar Maltz Performing Arts Center at e Temple – Tifereth Israel has become a place for music, lectures, and other forms of cultural enrichment. Anchored by Silver Hall, it has become home to students from Case Western Reserve’s music department, whose 19 ensembles include a symphony orchestra, an Early Music vocal ensemble, Baroque chamber ensembles and orchestra, ensembles for jazz, wind, and popular music, and the Case Concert Choir. A complete Avid ProTools audio recording and post editing system was deployed. ATC nearfield reference monitors and recording microphones from Schoeps, AKG, Sennheiser, and Shure. A Digital Projection 11,000 lumens 3-chip DLP Laser projector throwing crystal clear images from over 80’ away onto a massive custom Vutec ground lifted projection screen system. A broadcast video production system was installed featuring 5 Telemetric broadcast grade robotic cameras all feeding a Snell Advanced Media SDI matrix router. A Grass Valley GV Director production switcher was deployed for easy production of broadcast events. A full broadcast wiring infrastructure including fiber, triax, and SDI connections are provided throughout the facility to accommodate outside television production trucks when needed. In addition to the systems in Silver Hall, a complete sound and video system featuring dual Christie digital projectors, SLS column speakers, and a audio recording system. A HISTORIC PAST. A SHINING FUTURE. Silver Hall, the primary auditorium with a seating capacity of 1,200, has a unique heptagonal shape and is capped with a massive gold dome which represented incredible challenges. To address the sound reinforcement needs in the hall, while preserving the visual integrity of the venue, SoundCom installed d&b audiotechnik xC series mechanically steerable line array speaker columns. ese arrays were augmented with delay zone speakers and powerful subwoofers. A complete Martin MLA series portable ground stack system was provided driving higher decibel levels throughout the venue. A Yamaha CL and DM series digital mixing consoles with supporting equipment were provided in portable road cases for easy setup and tear down. e consoles work in concert with a state of the art recording system which includes 12 micro- phones with custom ServoReelers integrated into the 15-ton glass and steel canopy.
