the delightfully cinematic Cogges Manor Farm.

A Moghul confection in the Cotswolds, nothing quite

prepares you for Sezincote - a unique Indian-influenced

stately home. A 1 hour private guided tour explores the

architecture designed in the Mogul style of Rajasthan,

with its  romantic water garden with pools, waterfalls,

a grotto and a temple to the  Hindu Sun God,  largely

unchanged since the mid-19th century.

The  stunning weathered-copper onion dome  dazzled

the  Prince Regent  so much during his 1807 visit, he

went on to change his plans for the  Royal Pavilion in

Sidmouth Folk Week is a unique week-long seaside celebration of music, dance and song taking place in the charming East Devon regency coastal resort. There has been a folk festival in Sidmouth in August every year since 1955, attracting tens of thousands of visitors to over 700 diverse

events with a promise of ‘something for everyone’ – from ceilidh dancing and colourful dance displays. The town’s street and venues come alive with a festive atmosphere as holiday makers and festival goers enjoy a music-based holiday to remember.

This flower show, held in Vivary Park, has been a regular feature of Taunton’s summer since 1831. The 250 competitive classes are open to all including amateur gardeners, crafters, floral artists, and children. The floral marquees feature flower and plant traders surrounded by a wide range

of horticultural traders. Add in show gardens by professional garden designers, the events’ arena where marching bands, dog displays, and dramatic motor bike events take place, and you will enjoy a truly inspiring day out.

Flambards Theme Park, Helston, Cornwall is a great family fun day out with plenty of great things to do – whatever the weather! Brave the sky-high thrill rides or enjoy the undercover soft play area. Discover dinosaurs in the Jurassic Journey and undercover fossils in the Dino Dig. Step back

in time in the life-size Victorian Village and experience Britain in the Blitz in the award-winning indoor attractions.Infants under 3yrs are admitted free of charge to Flambards however, by law they must occupy a seat on the coach so there is a nominal charge of £10 each for this.

Newquay has been a holiday destination since the arrival of the railway in the late 1900’s. With its many golden sandy beaches, clear blues skies and refreshing sea air it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the UK. Visit the charming harbour, take a boat

trip or witness the many exciting water sports that normally run from there. Newquay has an array of restaurants, cafés and tea rooms for fine dining, light meals or to indulge in cream teas or locally produced clotted cream ice cream. There are also plenty of places to enjoy a Cornish pasty, a real taste of Cornwall.

Newquay has Cornwall’s largest zoo at Trenance Leisure Park and Cornwall’s largest aquarium in the town centre overlooking Towan Beach. If you are looking for a relaxing day away from the beach, then Newquay’s hidden gem is the Trenance Gardens and Boating Lake.

Newquay is very much the seaside town. It has a town centre with lovely shops to browse made up of local businesses offering clothing to crafts and some larger chains you would expect.

Rosemoor is a 65-acre garden of intoxicating beauty, meticulously crafted and planted, retaining the essence of rural North Devon within a dramatic backdrop of steep wooded valley sides.

This mid-summer flower show is packed with gorgeous floral

displays, national nursery and trade exhibitors, expert advice and much more.

There may be concessions for RHS Members.

Woodlands is one of the UK’s top family parks, set in 60 glorious acres. Enjoy the wide range of rides, play zones, interactive zoo-farm and the falconry centre flying displays which will entertain all age groups. There are vast indoor fun factories, animal complexes, play centres

as well as the Falconry Centre, ensuring even the heaviest rain does not spoil your day out.

If you are looking for an excellent educational, action packed day out for all the family, you’ll love the Great Dorset Steam Fair. From small beginnings this annual event has become one of the favoured places for those interested in how people lived, worked and played in bygone

years and it is now justifiably recognised as “The National Heritage Show” as well as being regarded as the leading show of its type in the world. The spectacle covers an enormous showground, at over 600 acres being one of Europe’s largest outdoor event locations. 2021 sees the show celebrate its 53rd year.

If its heritage related, you’ll find it at the Great Dorset Steam Fair. Each year they assemble the largest collection of steam & vintage equipment and rural displays to be seen anywhere in the world and take visitors on a giant trip of nostalgia into the days of yesteryear. Everything that was great in British engineering and craftsmanship can be seen, it really is a look back at our wonderful heritage when Great Britain was workshop to the world.

The origins of this annual carnival can be traced back to the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, when Guy Fawkes and his fellow conspirators failed in their attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament. The Carnival still lives up to its reputation as the largest and best illuminated

procession in the world, with a mesmerising display of colour, sound movement and overall entertainment.

Carnival Procession starts - 18.00hrs

Nothing marks the start of Christmas festivities like the “City of Lights” parade in Truro which coincides with the official switch on of the Christmas lights, along with music and dance from the local community groups. Each year the parade adopts a different theme with a dazzling

procession of giant homemade lanterns carried through the streets by professional artists. Local school children usually escort them with their own smaller lanterns.Parade starts 18:30
