MARCH 3, 2013 BULLETIN RAY’S REMARKS: Can you believe all the snow we have had? We certainly are getting some winter weather now, but overall it really has not gotten too nasty. It sure is pretty to see the snow blanket the earth and make everything look white and pure. Another blessing in all of this is that it hasn’t gotten too cold overall. Can you imagine what this weather would have been like if it had been 10 to 20 degrees colder? Chase, Trey and I enjoyed going out in the snow yesterday. Chase and I made a snowman, then we had a snowball fight in the back yard. The snow was just right for making snow balls. We all had a lot of fun. I noticed others on facebook taking advantage of the weather and of such time to share with family. I know sometimes it’s hard to make the first effort and to get out of those chairs or away from our TVs, but when we finally do, how rewarding such times are with our families. Anyway, God continues to bless us all as His children, no matter come what may. So we might as well enjoy all the blessings of this life and make the most of every day. It’s hard to believe that we are only a few days away from March. This year is proving to be another fast one and it is going to pass us by before we know it. I hope we all are taking advantage of all the opportu- nities and privileges available in Jesus Christ! We have so many things we can do and should be doing as those who love God. Let’s all try to give God a little more and show Him just how much we love Him. We finally have gotten the security cameras installed and they should be up and running by this weekend. Several have asked if this system is connected to some company for monitoring, the answer is no. This system will give us the ability to monitor the property ourselves at any time. But we primarily needed it so that we can monitor our parking lot and halls while we are gathered for services. Hopefully this will help us to stay on top of those who might be coming on to our property or entering our building unknown while we are assembled. Well, I hope you have a great remainder of the week and a great weekend. I look forward to our gathering this coming Lord’s day. Until then, remember to put God first always and you’ll never regret it. See you Sunday. A WARNING FROM GOD

“The righteous should choose their friends carefully, for the way for the way of the wicked leads them astray”(Proverbs 12:26). Do not be deceived; evil companycorrupts good habits” (1 Corinthians 15:33).

Why does God warn us about the world’s influence?

God indicates that a life-time of bad influencefrom the world can and will turn the hearts of hispeople. The Old Testament is filled with examplesof people like Lot who let the influence of the worldlead them into sin and ultimately destruction. In theNew Testament there are parables, like the Prodigalson, reflecting the consequences of such choices. We notice in Galatians that Peter, an apostle, fellprey to influence from some that he associated with.Scripture shows Peter to be of strong will and mindyet he made mistakes because of wrong influence. We have an obligation to preach the gospel toeveryone that we come into contact with, that in-cludes the whole world. But in order to follow Jesus, toward God’s rewards, we must be wise enough tolisten to God’s warnings. It is easy to deceiveourselves into thinking that we will never fall underpressure but the warnings are clear. A life of faithfulservice is difficult at best, in the world. We must becareful not to increase our own burden by foolishchoices. Never underestimate the world’s ability toinfluence us.
