The Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology University of Gdansk and Medical University of Gdansk (IFB UG & MUG) has been created in 1993 in response to a rising challenge from modern biotechnology. It combines two universities in the effort to achieve one goal: the highest quality research and education in the area of biotechnology. The scientists at IFB UG & MUG have an origin in different disciplines: biology, medicine, pharmacy and chemistry. They have been teaching students and conducting high-quality research work thanks to numerous grants from national and international funding bodies. Currently, the structure of the IFB UG & MUG consists of 17 research teams, each gathered around a specialized discipline. Skilled doctoral students complete the research potential of the Faculty.
