Thank You from Sister Marganne!

Dear Saint John Parishioners, As you know, I will be leaving Saint John’s in just a few days after serving here for two years as Pastoral As-sociate, Director of Liturgical Ministries, and Coordinator of Faith Formation. Playing the organ at Mass, writing bulletin blurbs, offering talks at various times of the year were experiences that I enjoyed and enabled me to inter-act with a lot of wonderful people. My next “adventure” will find me back in the classroom, teaching 10th and 11th grade theology at Martin Saints Classical High School which is in Oreland. I am looking forward to returning to convent life at Saint Jerome’s which is very near Nazareth Hospital (2930 Holme Avenue, Philadelphia). Please stop in if you are in the neighborhood! I want to thank so many of you for your kindnesses to me as well as for the privilege of getting to know so many of you. You will be in my prayers and I hope you will say a few for me as well. May God bless you always! Sister Marganne Drago, SSJ

In your kindness, please pray for the happy repose of the souls of:

Mary Jo Brennanwife of Stephen Brennan

andStanley Jaslar

husband of Nancy Jaslar

May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

“A catechist is a person of faith, hope and love attached to arms and legs with aches, and pains, family duties and not enough time. A catechist is an ordinary person who is extraordinary because he or she teaches as Jesus did. A catechist is faithful to the past, open to the future, but especially dedicated to deepening the faith of the present generation.” A catechist at St. John the Evangelist is one who follows the guidelines as set forth by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia adding their creativity, knowledge and personality to each lesson.

Our dedicated catechists number about 30 and they are willing to make the effort to plan and then present the te-nets of our Catholic faith to the students. There is always room for more catechists or volunteers, so if you feel that your talents can be shared with the students while spread-ing the Good News of the Gospel, then the PREP family welcomes you.
