Using these tips gets you sales traffic for your eBay products. And still have plenty of time in your day for shopping, listing, shipping & family & friends.

We will cover the two basic ways to post your eBay products to social media.

1. Click the social share button on your eBay listings. This is the easiest way to share an item. As of now there is not an Instagram social share button.

2. Sometimes when you click the share button, the image is “wonky” or non existent. You can upload your product picture or graphic directly to a social media site, add a description & then copy and paste the link to your item. Instagram’s only clickable link is in your profile. You can upload a picture, but not a link to your item in an Instagram post. More about this later.

Here is a simple cheat sheet to help you with your social media posts.FACEBOOK ( Business Page)

1. Share to your Facebook Business page with your eBay listing social share button. Make sure to click the toggle & share to your Facebook Business page and not your personal profile.

Click to share on Facebook

Click on Toggle and click Share on a Page You Manage

A Facebook Business page is free and where you should share your product posts.

Write a nice description for your Facebook Business page post. Many social media experts recommend 50 characters or less as best. Look at what eBay fills in for you to share and decide if it's the best choice for your item.

Facebook searches by keywords. It’s best to use NO hashtags on Facebook.

Sometimes using the eBay sharing button, you’ll note the share doesn’t look right or doesn’t pull an image of your item. You may want to upload your product’s picture directly to Facebook. Then add a description & then copy and paste the url address to your eBay item.

You can also create Facebook posts for sales in your eBay store!

As you type hashtagged keywords, in the Instagram app, you'll see how many times that hashtag is being used on Instagram.

2. You can schedule Instagram, using a computer with the paid versions of Hootsuite and Buffer.

There is also a popular paid scheduling app Tailwind (afl) Tailwind is done from desktop.

Additionally Facebook has rolled out Creator Studio. Creator Studio is Facebook’s own free desktop scheduler for Instagram. It is in beta, so not all Facebook users have it. You must have a Facebook Business page to get Creator Studio. It’s not sufficient to only have an Instagram account.

TWITTER

2. Two hashtags are recommended by many social media experts. Data shows that using more than two reduces the effectiveness of the tweet. Good keyword choices for your two hashtags include brand, color, style, and lifestyle/usage.

2. Similar to Facebook, if eBay’s social share button does not grab a nice picture of your item, directly uploading a picture, doing a Nice 100 character description with 2 optimized keywords can be your best choice. You can also create great original graphics with Canva. There is a free and a paid version of Canva. See What works best for your needs.

Canva recommends graphics to be 1024 x 512 pixels for your Twitter posts.
