Power Transmission offers innovative solutions in low-loss powertransmission. The Rail Systems Division include the business of rail vehicles, from trains,metro, locomotives, metro systems and respective services. The national railway operator (CP) awarded the division with themaintenance contract for the contactless ticket and control system for 12stations of the metropolitan area in Lisbon.

Perfil do sectorSmart Grid Division offers products and solutions for intelligent and flexiblegrid infrastructures. Today’s and tomorrow’s power grids should integrateall forms of energy production and guarantee energy flows andbidirectional communications. Low and Medium Voltage Division offers tomunicipalities, industries and public service companies a vast range ofproducts, systems and solutions for energy distribution infrastructures.

A Low and Medium Voltage includes also the production of medium voltageand air isolated switchgears from the Switchgear factory in Corroios.

Installation of 100 smart meters in the area of Funchal, a Smart MeteringProject of Empresa de Electricidade da Madeira (EEM).

Contract with REN for the supply of remote protection equipment forits smart grid based on fiberoptic.

90% of switchgear production in Corroios is for export. One of themain projects was the ““Nohn Trach 2” project in Vietnam.

For this, the company has divided its actions andcorporate citizenship initiatives in 3 distinctive areas tocover the different strands of society and environment.This are the areas of Environment, Education (Generation21) and solidarity and volunteerism (Caring Hands).

In accordance with its corporate sustainability strategy for2011, employees of Siemens Portugal took part in socialand educational activities and contributed with 1.400 hoursof voluntary work.
