The ARS-12 is our most sensitive angular rate sensor. Designed to eliminate jitter from airborne and space borne mirrors, optical systems or lasers, and for accurate line-of-sight imaging platform stabilization, the

ARS-12 can measure vibrations and angular motions as low as 50 nanoradians. This product has very high sensitivity and a very low noise floor. The stainless steel housing and mounting plate make a rugged assembly, able to operate accurately after an 800g shock load. Its compact size and mass allow use in very small spaces. The ARS-12 has a wide, usable frequency range from less than 1 to more than 1,000 Hz.The ARS-12 is available in three standard ranges for angular rate measurement and three standard ranges for angular displacement measurement. The ARS-12A has an optional test signal input and an optional temperature sensor.

Design Services In addition to supplying standard sensor products, ATA Sensors can provide complete sensor subsystems design for custom applications. We offer contract design services in the areas of shock and vibration sensing and control when you lack in-house expertise. Our Engineering staff can create sensor designs for custom applications. Each sensor is hand assembled to the exacting specifications of each customer.

Upcoming Products

MERG Gyroscope Project : ATA’s patented Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) technology is being expanded even further in the MHD Effect Rate Gyroscope, or MERG development project. This next generation gyroscope will, as other ATA sensor product shave done, bringtomarket a sensor that will be much more rugged and less expensive than anything offered by competitors. Initially, the design will provide for inertial navigation systems with drift rates of less than 20 degrees per hour in small package sizes with low mass and low power consumption. The angular rate frequency response of the MERG is from DC to over 1000 Hz.

Angular Rate Sensor Series

The Dynapak 5 is an aluminum case containing a three axis angular rate sensor array comprised of three ARS-09 sensors in a mounting block plus three linear accelerometers and a temperature

sensing chip. The DynaPak™ 5 is a complete 6 degree-of-freedom sensor array. Linear accelerometers specified are Kistler 8304B for the standard product, but Endevco type 7290 or other linear accelerometers are available on custom order.

A custom precision accelerometer package measures low linear acceleration on satellites or other precision platforms. The package provides simultaneous acceleration signals along three orthogonal axes

with a commendable dual range of +/- 25mG and +/-1000mG over a 16Hz bandwidth. Two independent sensor sets (dual redundant) are provided in a single enclosure. The unit provides pulse train outputs with frequency proportional to acceleration, and temperature sensor outputs with voltage proportional to temperature. All inputs and outputs are dual redundant. Separate connectors are used for power and signal connections. A bias input is provided to offset earth G bias in the sensitive range for ground testing and a calibration signal is provided internally for on-orbit two point scale factor calibration.

The Dynapak 12 triaxial sensor packages measure ultra-low level angular jitter on precision imaging satellites in the sub-microradian regime. All Dynapak 12's exhibit noise equivalent angles (NEAs) of

less than 50 nanoradians rms over a 2-1000 Hz integration bandwidth and incorporate spacecraft selectable high and low ranges to provide a large dynamic range of jitter measurement on the spacecraft. The Dynapak 12 sensor packages were designed to measure angular jitter on satellites, but can be used anywhere angular jitter must be monitored. The sensor packages use three space qualified ATA ARS-12B sensors with the option of a DC-DC converter for running the sensor package directly from the spacecraft bus. The outputs are bipolar analog signals (one per axis) along with a temperature telemetry output. Dynapak 12 outputs are typically in angular rate, but may also be conditioned to provide angular displacement or acceleration.ATA Sensors can provide custom designed space-qualified, triaxial jitter measurement packages with various bandwidths and scale factors. Dual-range selection as well as other output options (current or frequency proportional to angular rate, displacement or acceleration) are also available.

ATA designs, produces and tests customspace-qualified electromagnetic actuators for high performance steering mirrors and other similar applications. The ACT-32 is the highest force, fully-redun

dant linear EM actuator available on the market today. It is vacuum compatible and designed to exceed 1kHz bandwidth with minimum phase loss.

ILC-01 and ILC-03 are in-line converter boxes for use with angular rate sensors. Multiple functions are available in the ILC and must be

specified at time of order. These functions include (singularly or combin

ation) single voltage input (± 10 Vdc), amplified outputs with gains of 10, 100, or 1000x, and acceleration output. All sensors input and output voltages and signals run through the ILC. The ILC is machined of hard aluminum, has 4 mounting holes for attachment to test fixtures, and uses Airborn® mil spec connectors. Internal electronics are encapsulated to make a sealed rugged unit that can withstand high shock and harsh environments
