This fall, actives were ready to jump back into action with our Rush theme, "A Leader DO(e)Z"! We wanted to bring that personal touch back to Rush, emphasizing that DOZ is what you make of it. Each active wrote what "A Leader DO(e)Z" to them on their shirts -- the responses ranged from "..the impossible", "...think out of the box" to "...catalyze!" DOZ even threw in a Flash Mob to gather some viral marketing -- and Colin's Speedo definitely helped gather some great attention for Rush. We saw a record 215 potential members register for Fall Rush, which gave us an amazing selection from which to choose the next class. Between our Diddy-Riesed Meet the Chapter and our Potential Member Brunch at the University Club, DOZ saw all sides of the university's leadership spectrum. One long Decision Night and a Bid Night later, the Delta Class was born.

Info Session Potential Journeymen met the e-board and

actives for the first time. The membership team and e-board members shared a bit about their own experience and love for DOZ, discussed the logistics of the J-men process, and saved some

time for a bit of pizza and mingling.

Meet the Chapter Games. The fastest way to get to know a group and to fall in love with it! Potential members

made it out to VKC for a night of round-robin games and bonding.

Delta Omega Zeta ’s Football Tailgate The tailgate was another chance to meet and mingle with actives, learn about what DOZ is and what it means to its members, and to see firsthand how real leaders show school spirit.

In the back of my mind always knew I could do anything, but DOZ gave me the inspiration, the skills, and the resolve to not just do anything, but to pursue my greatest passions fearlessly.

~Diana Smith, Delta Class

DOZ has been an amazing experience because not only has it taught me more about my leadership style and the importance of self-discovery, but it has allowed me to learn a great deal

about leadership from an extremely talented and diverse group of leaders. DOZ is now my second family. ~Ariel Gonzalez, Delta Class

DOZ has taught me more about myself and about working with others than anything else I have ever been involved in. I have learned to push myself and

always be comfortable out of my comfort zone. ~Katie Kittrell

Big Sib Night, October 8th, 2009

A wild game of animal noise matching revealed the sibling pairs! We headed inside for a big-little team challenge with teams

scrambling to do the rowboat or the doghouse. A night of general revelry and mayhem ensued.

DOZ Parent ’s Weekend Tailgate, October 24th, 2009

The morning began at 7am—several actives and Journeymen showed up to stake out a prime spot by VKC. There were drinks, cookies, grade-A burgers (cooked to perfection by our very own Andrew Steiner) and great company. DOZ members stopped by to take pictures, have a drink and some food, and to meet some of the

parents who birthed such great leaders.

Clubbing for a Cause: Boardner ’s, October 29, 2009

This night will go down in DOZ history. DOZers put on their Halloween best and rocked the bus to the Boarders in Santa Monica. We left the club knowing that

leaders know how to party. And we did it all for the kids in Africa.

CASA Cantina, November 5th, 2009 Both Journeymen and actives got classy for the most anticipated social event of the semester. We grabbed our dates, our drinks, and karaoke’d the entire way to CASA Cantina in downtown LA. The DOZ Sombrero made its rounds as the fraternity

enjoyed a sophisticated, grandiose celebration of our family.

DOZ Homecoming Tailgate, November 14th, 2009

For the first time since DOZ’s inaugural semester, the seven founders came together to see their class project thriving as the most selective & innovative fraternity on campus. Raquel, Miya, Chris, Mike, Kristen, Jeff and Max reunited to meet the newest faces of

our fraternity on Homecoming weekend.

DOZ DO(e)Z the Holidays, December 11th, 2009

With the first week of finals behind us, we put down our books and picked up our holiday cheer! With a hilarious white elephant gift exchange, we celebrated great

people, festive food and drinks of the season.

DOZ DO(e)Z Thanksgiving Feast, November 24th, 2009

We rocked our new DEE OHH ZEE shirts as we tucked into our second helpings of of turkey slices, two quish pies, sweet potatoes topped with marshmallows, a DOZ cake

and more desserts choices than we could count. The DOZ love was in the air as we entered the holiday season.

Ariel Gonzalez

DOZ Class: Delta

Year: Junior

Where are you?: Czech Republic

I am MOST looking forward to: Exploring the Czech Republic and traveling Europe.

Anything you would like everyone to know: I'm going to miss you all so much!

Nimisha Thakore

DOZ Class: Gamma!

Year: Junior

Where are you studying abroad: London

I am MOST looking forward to: Tea time. Using sugar cubes, riding the tube, finding the invisible Diagon Alley, and saying things like "Fancy that! Jolly good, then, eh?" (Just kidding.) Also, exploring London's fascinating history, learning about how journalism works in the UK, and traveling/adventuring around Europe :).

Most interesting fact about your country: Taxi cab drivers in London are said to be the best in the world. They have to learn 60,000 routes by heart and if they pass the allegedly grueling test, they're said to have "the Knowledge." Sounds mystical and coveted, right?

Anything you would like everyone to know: I will miss you all dearly! I'll rep DOZ like no other in the UK -- and to those of you in Europe, I expect a reunion at some point! And I promise not to obnoxiously pretend to have "picked up" an English accent upon my return to the States.

I am MOST looking forward to: La cultura, la historia, el arte, la lengua, la comida, los viajes, y las fiestas...(but also the siestas!) I am mostly looking forward to being outside my comfort zone and also being comfortable making mistakes. That’s when you learn the most!

Most interesting fact about your country: In theory, nudity is legal anywhere in Spain. AND everyone...and I mean everyone... takes a two hour break between twelve and two to eat and be merry!

Want everyone to know: I will be supergluing pennies or sticking rad stickers all around Europe (I haven’t decided which one yet). I will let you know what it will be! But I will also be taking pictures at the places that I leave them. So if you happen to pass by one of them, in un bar in Amsterdam o en un baño en Morroco, don’t forget to take a picture and tag me in it! I will hide it you and you shall seek them! =)

Where you at?: Budapest, Hungary (the homeland)

I am MOST looking forward to: Connecting with my roots, & exploring the world for 4 months!

Most interesting fact about your country: Budapest is an uncovered gem of a city. I cannot wait to see it's natural and historical beauty. Also, it's still less expensive than most of western Europe. I'm so excited to say yes to everything and see what happens & what I will learn
