n A Note from the Manager...
Please welcome a long time employee, Cristal Carillo, as she starts a new career with the Oaks as our new Food & Beverage Manager. We are excited to have her in this role and know she will do a great job!
It has been a major struggle the past few months to find employees. We are still short a cook for the kitchen at the Clubhouse and the Pool. I’m sure you have noticed how many new servers we have as well. We appreciate your patience as we strive to hire and train our personnel to serve our membership.
Repairs at the North gate are underway and will be operable soon. Construction on the 71st street gate will begin soon as well. The same clicker can be used for both gates. This is the first step to increase security at our club. Several clubs in Tulsa and Oklahoma City are experiencing the same issues so please remember to always LOCK your vehicles at all times. The Oaks Fireworks Extravaganza is back in full swing! Saturday, July 3rd - Open Seating at 5:30 pm.Buffet begins at 6:30pm.Pool will close at 7:00pm.RSVP to [email protected] or call 918-359-0813
Sunday, July 4th our annual Pool Party will be from 12:00pm - 2:00pm.Pool hours on the 4th will be from 10:00am - 7:00pm.
We will be open Monday, July 5th and closed Tuesday, July 6th.Pool hours on the 5th will be from 10:00am - 7:00pm.Tilly Grill will be open from 11:00am - 3:00pm No food service after 3:00pm.The Centennial, Halfway House, and Locker Room will be open until 6:00pm.

Half Price Fried Shrimp All July
Hello Mah Jongg Beginners! We are thrilled that you are interested in learning Mah Jongg, and joining the Play-Days that will be held at The Oaks beginning this Summer! There are currently 6 women interested in taking lessons, as well as 5 experienced players who want to participate. It will be a fun time for all! Here are some details:
• Lessons will be held on Thursday, July 15 and July 22.• Lunch can be ordered from the menu if desired, beginning at 11:30.• Lessons will begin by 12:15, and will continue for about 2 hours.• Experienced players will be invited to join us on July 22, but will play at separate tables.• Weekly Play-Days will continue to be held at The Oaks on Thursdays, 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
You will need to acquire the 2021 Rule Card ($10) and a copy of the booklet “Mah Jongg Made Easy” ($13) from the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL). You can order them online from the NMJL, or pur-chase them from me at our first get-together. There will be some “homework” after the first lesson, which will help you learn faster, if you choose to do it!
There is no charge for the Lessons, but I am requesting a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in support of Tulsa’s Mah Jongg for Memories Team, which is participating in a National fundraiser. The suggested donation is $50, as teachers typically charge $50-$100 for lessons.
Please let me know if you have questions or need more information, and if you plan to join us. Also, if these dates and times do not work for you, let me know what does as we may hold additional sessions. Let’s get crakking! (The spelling is actually correct—you’ll see!). Jenelle: [email protected]
