As was posed to active members for voting, our Membership dues will be increased effective April 2, 2015. We also plan to increase our activi- ties by arranging more social events in our local area (i.e., lunch meet- ups at a military installation, happy hour events, and bowling parties). Additionally, we want to become more involved in community events, including the Wreath Laying Ceremony at Arlington National Cem- etery (see Page 9), and visiting the Soldiers’ Home, Fisher House, and Wounded Warriors. Last year the Association donated a combined total of $1,500 to the Fisher House and Wounded Warrior programs. Member dues help support these activities and donations. We are also gearing up to support other events this year (see Save the Date notes to the right). In addition to our own activities, we con- tinue to actively work with the White House Communications Agency to promote theirs. WHCA is hosting a Birthday Ball on April 18, 2015. This is an exciting time for all 1600 Communications Association members, current and former WHCA members, and others to come together for a great celebration! (See details, Page 7.) The Association will host our 22nd Annual Golf Tournament on June 19, 2015 at Joint Base Andrews. Because of its continued popularity, we have again coordinated to use dual courses for the tournament. As you may know, the tournament’s net proceeds support our Scholarship Program. Serious and weekend golfers should plan to attend! Special thanks to the Board for collectively chairing this year’s tournament. The flyer is included with this newsletter (Page 8) – register early! We look forward to seeing everyone this year at all of our upcoming events and activities. Remember, our success depends on you!
