GRASS-FED BEEF & RAW MILK Your body is a complex ma-chine, requiring many nutri-ents in order to grow and function properly. Modern techniques of raising, preserv-ing, and packaging meat products have contributed to a change in the quality and nutrition of these products that we consume.

The nutritional differences between the meat of feedlot-raised animals and pasture-raised animals are as follows:

1.)Lower in Fat and Calo-ries: The meat from grass-fed beef is lower in fat and has less calories than grain-fed meat.

2.) Extra Omega-3s: There are two to four times more omega-3 fatty acids in grass-fed animals than meat from grain-fed animals [1].

3.)CLA: CLA, conjugated linoleic acid, is a “good fat” that may be one of the body’s

most potent defenses against cancer. When ru-minants are raised on fresh pasture alone, between three to five times more CLA may be found in their meat versus the meat from animals fed conventional diets [2].

4.) Vitamin E: In a study done at Colorado State University - Fort Collins, meat from cattle that had been raised on a pasture had four times higher the amount of vitamin E than the meat from cattle raised on a feedlot [3].

Doug and Kim Wiley know what grass-fed beef is all about. They also know how nutritious milk is from these grass-fed dairy cows.

Raw milk shares are now available from Larga Vista Ranch. This is in addition to the delicious selection of

grass-fed beef and pork.

Raw milk from grass-fed cows has many of the same benefits to one’s health, for example, extra omega-3’s, CLA, and Vitamin E.

There is plenty information on raw milk and its benefits to the consumer. These resources are provided on the last page.

If you are interested in pur-chasing a share of raw milk, or purchasing grass-fed beef and pork, please give Doug and Kim a call. Also, if you have any additional questions on the raw milk or grass-fed meats, feel free to contact them!

1.) Hormones secreted into the blood-stream during stressful situations are used up when you exercise. Therefore, exercise helps your immune system to function in a normal manner, sooner.

2.) Tension that has built up in your muscles is worked out of your muscles while exercising.

3.) Strength, flexibility, and stamina are all increased when you exercise. This

Exercising is a key component of stay-ing healthy. Our bodies were made to work, and if you are sedentary a large portion of the day, or if you are per-forming a minimal amount of walking around, you may not be doing justice to the physical needs of your body.

Yes. Your body wants to work out. Exercising reduces the negative effects of stress.

How does it accomplish this?

increases the efficiency of the cardiovas-cular system, and prepares you to be able to handle future stressors in a more efficient manner! [4]

In addition to exercise, keeping your body hydrated is key to feeling and look-ing your best. Make sure you drink plenty of WATER every day. Not just liquids, but clean, unadulterated water.

Your body will thank you!!!

Marine phytoplankton, single-celled plants that are invisible to the human eye, are the vegetation of the ocean. They are the food source of whales that live to be over 150 years old. NASA studies show that plankton is responsible for as much as 90% of earth’s oxy-gen.

With proper nutrition, the body can restore and heal itself. The miracle of natural healing only requires the proper nutrients and environment to create this positive change.

Phytoplankton is not a cure for anything. It’s a whole food, which includes trace elements, essential

fatty acids, amino acids, omega 3’s and 6’s, vitamins, and minerals. In fact, everything the body needs to regenerate healthy cells.

As Dr. Jerry Tennant, MD says: “Marine Phytoplankton is one of the most rare in-gredients on the planet because it contains, in a concentrated form, almost everything you need for life or the rebuilding of a healthy life.”

According to Dr. Hugo Rodier, MD, Nu-trition professor at the University of Utah Medical School: “Marine Phytoplankton is an ideal food for mankind. It’s Mother Earth’s milk from the ocean. The research we are designing at the University of Utah Medical School testing the health benefits of Marine Phytoplankton is very exciting and promising.”

HORMONE-FREE MILK

How? In rBGH milk...

1.) Fat levels are increased, and

2.) More antibiotics must be used (potentially causing antibiotic-resistance).

There are additional effects that may have a negative impact on one’s health.

That is why hormone-free milk may be of interest to you and your family.

Ask questions and look into your milk!

Do you know what may be in your milk?

Many conventional (not natural or or-ganic) milks may contain growth hor-mones that were given to the cows in order to increase their milk production.

Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone is what “rBGH” stands for. This is a ge-netically engineered product from a very large company involved with agriculture.

The effects of these hormones on people who consume this milk may be of great concern. An article from the Organic Consumers Association states that “rBGH milk differs qualitatively and quantita-tively from natural milk.” [5]
