THIRTY SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME “You have been faithful in small things;

come and join in your master's happiness” READ MATTHEW 25:14-30 MEDITATE God has entrusted His most precious property to us: His own Son, given to us in the Sacraments. He made us His children in baptism. We receive Him in Holy Communion; He forgives us our sins in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. How do we live out our lives after receiving these gifts?

LET US PRAY O God, who in your abundance pour out on us your gifts, make me profit

by your grace so that I may experience the rewards of your love in my life. Amen.

ACT Consider the gifts given to you by God, especially those present in the Sacraments and how you are using them.

THE VIGIL LAMPS WILL BURN THIS WEEK FOR:- Our Lady & St Illtyd Our Lady: Grandad Dobson RIP (Laura) Sacred Heart: Katrina Bird Special Intention (Tobin Family) St. Cadoc Our Lady: Departed Family and Friends Sacred Heart: Rosser Family RIP

WORLD DAY OF THE POOR: SUNDAY 19TH NOVEMBER 2017 “It is a day to help communities and each of the baptised to reflect on how poverty is at the very heart of the Gospel and that, as long as Lazarus lies at the door of our homes (cf. Luke 16:19-21), there can be no justice or social peace. This Day will also represent a genuine form of new evangelisation (cf. Mt11:5) which can renew the face of the Church as She preservers in her perennial activity of pastoral conversion and witness to mercy.” - Pope Francis. WAYS TO OBSERVE THE WORLD DAY OF THE POOR 1. Pray for the poor 2. Practice the Corporal Works of Mercy 3. Make caring for the poor part of your routine 4. Learn about the causes of poverty and work to change them. 5. Support the Church’s outreach to the poor A Pastoral Letter from Archbishop George Stack, in relation to the World Day of the Poor, will be read at all Masses this weekend.

Please keep Fr. Mark in your prayers as he endures further health issues and has been referred to an Ophthalmic Surgeon on 28th November. Depending on the consultation he may have to spend sometime in hospital and is therefore unsure if he can visit the sick and housebound before Christmas. Fr Mark apologises most sincerely to all those who are unwell and have not been visited for a number of months. Please be assured of his continued prayer support. Please pray for Fr. Silvio who was admitted to hospital this week following a slight heart attack. Fr. Mark will celebrate the 11am Mass in St. Mary’s Bridgend this weekend.

NOVEMBER—MONTH OF THE HOLY SOULS A MEMORIAL MASS will take place on Wednesday 29th November at 11am in Our Lady & St Illtyd for the repose of the souls of those involved in building and running Aberthaw Power Station. MASSES FOR THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED: please place a list of your deceased family members in the special Holy Souls envelope with a donation for a Mass to be offered and either place in the Offertory basket or hand into the Sacristy.
