Blake Crawford accepted a PLT position in Carbonear, after successfully completing his apprentice program. Surround by the boys of Carbonear, all welcomed him to the gang.

A big congratulations to Justin and Shauna Elliott on the birth of their first baby - Brody Reuben!

Adam Avery, Financial Analyst, has passed his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) exam. Wally Scott

Jr (Wally Scott’s son) also passed the exam. The CPA program is a year-long series of complex modules and exams, culminating with the final examination.

Connor Hart, son of Dwayne Hart (PAB PLT LH), and his class were asked to dress up as superheros for school. Connor wanted to dress up as a PLT because he said they go out in every kind of weather to get everyone's power back on, even if it's a great big blizzard and we have no power at home. Check out the video of Connor here!

On Sunday, December 3, over 50 employees, family members and volunteers from Waypoints participated in the Annual Downtown St. John’s Christmas Parade collecting donations for the Community Food Sharing Association. Over $10,000 and 16,000 pounds of food, valued at $40,000, was collected. Since 1999, we have collected close to $205,000 and 365,000 pounds of food valued at $785,000. The food and money collected during the Parade will go a long way to help those in need this time of year. And to top that off, the Newfoundland Power float won first place in the over 20 feet category. Thank you to Joan Prowse and her many elves who worked so hard on the float this year. All of their efforts certainly paid off in the end!

Congratulations to Clarenville area employees, retirees and family members on winning first place for the best commercial float in the Clarenville Christmas Parade.

The office staff had a Lunch Pot Luck Thursday Dec 7. There was lots of food to fill all the tummies. Hoping to make it a monthly event. Photo: Beverly Williams, Ashleigh Yetman, Pauline Mercer and Debbie Adams.

Saturday, Dec 16, Carbonear Hosted the Children's Christmas Party, Breakfast with Santa. Kids were surprised by Santa who played a trick on them. He showed up in a big Christmas gift box after someone told the kids he was unable to show.

The Company sponsored breakfast with Santa at St. Clare’s Hospital on December 8 that was organized by the Health Care Foundation in support of adult health care. 10 employees served breakfast to almost 200 staff members at St. Clare’s. It is a great event that certainly put everyone in the Christmas spirit.

Again this year, the employees association of Carbonear came through in a big way for a worthy cause. Seen in the picture is Jimmy Southwell and Roger Conway donating $1,000 to sponsor a family who have found themselves in a less fortunate position this Christmas. Arrangements were made through the local Salvation Army. The family this year consisted of a mom, dad and three young kids below the age of six. Hats off to the Carbonear Employees!

Corner Brook staff came to the rescue for the local SPCA. Kaitlyn Turner organized the collection and it was a real show of Christmas spirit by Kaitlyn and the folks in Corner Brook which, no doubt is very much appreciated by our furry friends in need of a home. On Tuesday, December 12, the staff on Kenmount Road were treated to a great fund raising breakfast prepared by several Directors and served by the Executive and other Directors. The breakfast, along with ticket sales throughout the year raised over $4500 that will be shared between two charities. The Gathering Place, a center that provides meals and other services for up to 250 guests each day. Big Brother/Big Sisters of Eastern Newfoundland, a group that provides children and youth with life-changing relationships that inspire and empower them to reach their potential. Thank you to all who helped make this year’s breakfast and other fund raising events so successful.

Also pictured is Mark Osmond, son of proud parent Ed Osmond. Travis Martin was recognized for his volunteer work with the Candlelighters, a provincial organization that supports families affected by childhood cancer.
