In August, 33 youngsters and 6 members of staff travelled to St. Omer in northern France for a six day holiday. The group were made up of Hull and East Yorkshire Battalion, however the majority were from 5th Hull, here at Derringham Bank. The youngsters participated in many activities including visits to Tyne Cott cemetery, the Menin Gate in Ypres and the trenches. There was also a visit to a Boulangerie, a sweet factory and a theme park. The youngsters also went the beach, cooked crêpes, had fun and games at the centre as well as visiting a massive shopping centre in Calais on the way home.
